We got back in our seats early at the tournament. UK took the floor before Oakland. All of our coaches went and sat down or stood in a circle with Cal talking. Our guys grabbed 1,000 balls and began goofing around and shooting. No one could tell how they were shooting because 7 balls were hitting the rim at the same time knocking anything out that may have went in. Oakland comes out with coaches at the baseline running guys off screens popping 3s, structured all at once they moved to screening for layup drives. I said to my friend… We look like a bunch of guys at the playground, they look like a basketball team. That’s a microcosm of what our program has become. Coaches are being paid 13 million collectively and are not teaching shit. Watching the big guys at Grand Canyon and other mid Majors tear it up while we have 3 seven footers that didn’t improve one ounce. They couldn’t compete against SEC teams that mostly got bounced early. Our program is lower than we think. These coaches are just collecting easy checks and laying back. Cal hasn’t forgotten how to coach, he is just to lazy to coach.
