Skal and Isaiah Return Next Season, IMO.

What are you an NBA GM...it would not surprise me with your stupid comment calling anyone who doesn't thinkgets drafted is stupid. Because GM's are stupid you may be right in that he does get drafted but this kid is not even remotely close to being ready for any type of professional basketball. He can't compete in college against players that will be going pro in something other than sports. Yes let's take a chance on this kid.....Good grief!!!!!! Newsflash dude, there is a lot of height in the NBA that can actually play basketball. Being 7 ft tall doesn't mean jack in of itself.
Of course Skal is not ready for the league, but that goes for a shitload of 1st round picks the last 10 drafts. You also already said it, GMs are stupid and fall in love with potential. That's what most teams pick to base their picks on now.

Skal is back at UK or playing for pay in Turkey. There is absolutely no way
he is one of the 60 players drafted into the NBA. I can't remember a top 3 recruit that looked as lost as Skal does.
He is bullied by players that will never play professionally. I've seen enough, Skal is a bust, one of the biggest in our history.

An extra year of gaining weight and strength wouldn't hurt at this point, but all it takes is a good NCAA run to get you in the lottery.

I agree about the potential but at this point skal has shown no potential at all. Scoring 20 plus points against teams with guys 4-6 inches smaller than him is not potential. You have to show you can compete with guys his own size and bigger for which he currently hasn't or even come close.

I cannot see any team giving him a guaranteed contract, 2nd round perhaps as there is no guarantees there at all.

I want to see Skal put back rebounds, block 4 shots a game,
shoot 10 FT every game, and force teams to game plan for an athletic
7 footer. Does anyone actually believe we'll see that?

Right now, opposing teams know to go right into him, push him
off the block, and to grab the ball away from him because he brings
it down and he has the grasp of a 3rd grader.

What's going on? Are we only playing 1/3 of a season this year??? After the first 6 years it seems that we still have trouble remembering the same conversation from one year to the next.
On a side note, does anyone think Teague will be ready to declare after this season or will he come back again to play with Fox and Monk? I dont know where all the minutes are going to come from with Booker and Goodwin pushing for playing time too.

Skal is definitely gone. Even as a project he'll be a lottery pick. There aren't a lot of 7 foot people in the world who have touch with a basketball.

How is Tyler Ulis not a four year player? The guy is 5'8", can't jump, and can't shoot. Where is the NBA potential in that? [laughing] If you're that small you need to be an amazing, explosive athlete (sort of like what Bledsoe is) or be a knockout shooter. Hopefully Cal doesn't push him out the door because being a heady backup point on the Fort Wayne Mad Ants is that dude's ceiling as a pro.

No way I'm drafting a big with just a shooting touch. It's an alluring talent, but he must be able to do the things that big men are good at, like defending the paint and rebounding. Otherwise he's a practically a 7' shooting guard that can't handle the ball.

Not all bigs with shooting skills are Dirk or Durant. Andrea Bargnani exists, after all.
And he was the #1 pick in the draft when he declared. Not a great example.

If Skal's guardian is as advertised, he does not return under any circumstance. I'm not sure Skal's well being is particularly relevant to that conversation.

I don't know what you guys are seeing.
I do believe Skal's guardian will push him into pay for play next year.
But, as of now, Skal would not be drafted into the NBA.

I hope the coaching staff can get this kid to play, but I don't think
there's anything there.

Skal could possibly see the writing on the wall and transfer mid-season this year. He sits out all of calendar year 2016 and returns to college ball in January, 2017. That's what I would do.
brilliant. now go back and sit in the closet with your brain gear on and wait for another brainstorm.

People saying Skal won't even get drafted are a different kind of stupid. 7'0, 18 year old big men with his shooting touch and length don't grow on trees. He has potential through the roof. You don't think a single team would take him? Not even in the second round? I mean, I still think the kid has a better shot than not of being a lottery pick just based on those factors alone.

Just so you know, he's almost 20 years old. He's like six months older than Booker.

Here's to hoping your 3rd post don't suck.
