Skal and Isaiah Return Next Season, IMO.

I definitely see a scenario where these two come back next season, just way too many holes in their abilities at this point. They will be part of an absolute powerhouse team next year, that will likely dominate its way towards a ninth title. Another season of development would do wonders for both of them.

Idk about that. They'd have a hard time finding minutes on next years team.

Briscoe had bad shooting day, but other than that he had 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Not exactly bad stats.

I think Briscoe is pretty much gone. He has one weakness, and you can really work on that in the league.

I don't see Ulis going. He can in fact improve a lot. His shooting has been insanely bad. I thought he'll shoot close to his freshman year, but he hasn't.

They'll definitely play much less minutes next year if they do decide to come back. I don't see either one starting for next year's team.

Briscoe is shooting less than 30% from the line. I would think you could blindfold a guard and he should shoot better than that from the line. I don't know if the players are too muscle bound to have a shooter's touch, but something has happened to free throw shooting over the years.

With the front court freshmen coming in next year, it's hard for Skal to stay one more year.

Skal could possibly see the writing on the wall and transfer mid-season this year. He sits out all of calendar year 2016 and returns to college ball in January, 2017. That's what I would do.

Skal is not transferrring. I am still not sure that he will not be decent by years end but for now he is going backwards

Lee is the only one of our top six that might return, IMHO. He strikes me as being a guy who is truly enjoying the college experience and might come back.

I feel like the rest of them are gone.

Lee, Matthews, Willis, and Humphries plus Fox, Monk, Bam, and Gabriel will be the main rotation guys next season, IMHO, if Lee decides to return.

Skal's guardian will not allow him to play another season for free.

Write it down, staple it to your forehead, and don't make any more threads about this.

Murray is a lock to go top 10, I'd say that's about the only person I see really leaving, other than Poy ... no way Skal gets drafted the way he plays, Ulis is ... no idea what he's doing, Briscoe is solid ... my question is do we have room next year for say everyone returning but Murray and Poy?

People saying Skal won't even get drafted are a different kind of stupid. 7'0, 18 year old big men with his shooting touch and length don't grow on trees. He has potential through the roof. You don't think a single team would take him? Not even in the second round? I mean, I still think the kid has a better shot than not of being a lottery pick just based on those factors alone.

But you are dumb. All 4 of your posts prove this. Lets hope number 5 is better.

We all saw Orton staying and Liggins and Teague and Lamb and Booker and Dakari and ... we are never right about this, especially in December. One of the more useless things to discuss every year at this time.

No chance.

Yeah, there are all kinds of NBA teams that need PG's who cannot make a jump shot and shoot 35% from the free throw line !

Yeah, but that one weakness is a killer when you're a 6-2 guard in the NBA.

What are you an NBA GM...it would not surprise me with your stupid comment calling anyone who doesn't thinkgets drafted is stupid. Because GM's are stupid you may be right in that he does get drafted but this kid is not even remotely close to being ready for any type of professional basketball. He can't compete in college against players that will be going pro in something other than sports. Yes let's take a chance on this kid.....Good grief!!!!!! Newsflash dude, there is a lot of height in the NBA that can actually play basketball. Being 7 ft tall doesn't mean jack in of itself.

Here is the math without commentary...
1. Fox
2. Hawkins
3. Monk
4. Matthews
5. Mulder
6. Gabriel
7. Willis
8. Adebayo
9. Wynyard
10. Humphries
11. Killeya Jones
12. Open
13. Open

Open Spots: Skal, Lee, Ulis, Briscoe, Murray - Three goes, Two Stay*

* Or dozens of other possible scenarios with transfers, decommits or more NBA drafts, new commits, etc.

Floreal is on scholarship too, I think.

Probably fill those last two with a for sure KU package deal...

I think you right. He is this year, but I figure with his dad could pick up the tab. I know that Coach's kids at Kansas go for free as a perk of Dad's employment. I don't know if that is the same at UK.

If you're on scholarship of any sort, rather it be academic or because of your mommy or daddy works at the school, it counts against the total # of scholarships a team can have. This is why Doug McDermott went walk-on the other year ago, if he was going free because of his father he would have counted against the scholarship limit.

I guess that they just get a raise to cover the cost. I know UCLA's Bryce Alford is offering to give up his scholarship to get TJ Leaf. I don't think the Alford's are hurting for tuition money.

Its kind of funny to look back to past seasons and remember similar comments about guys. Bledsoe was a lock to return right up until March. No way Orton would leave since he was playing limited minutes. Knight was not a "true PG" and should come back according to many on this board. Many thought Teague would be back (and he probably should have came back). This time last year, many were convinced Booker and Lyles would return.

My point is, it is too early to tell who is leaving. And even if these guys don't improve any at all, they could still leave. I think for some of these guys, it was decided before they even signed. So it doesn't really matter how they are performing now, and it really doesn't matter if they improve that much, some are already dead set on leaving. Back before the OAD era began, some kids decided to go into the draft right out of HS even though they had no business doing so and some didn't even get drafted. This is the same thing, except now they have to go to college for a year. Briscoe and Labissiere were planning on leaving before they ever signed. Whether they are 1st rounders or not. They are most likely leaving.

Now a guy like Lee, that is a different story. I don't think he came in with the idea that he would only play so many seasons. He could stay or go and it would not surprise me either way. I think Lee is considering it, but I don't think he is a sure thing by any means.

No way I'm drafting a big with just a shooting touch. It's an alluring talent, but he must be able to do the things that big men are good at, like defending the paint and rebounding. Otherwise he's a practically a 7' shooting guard that can't handle the ball.

Not all bigs with shooting skills are Dirk or Durant. Andrea Bargnani exists, after all.
