AU's best player, WR Duke Williams hasn't been practicing with the team. He has had some discipline issues and Gus is tight lipped about it is just saying Duke has some discipline issues he is working on. But a couple of rumors going around not sure which or if either is correct. One is he got in a fight with another AU athlete on campus and the other is he had a physical altercation with one of the coaches on the first day of practice and was sent off the field. If the fight with another athlete happened, not a big deal to me unless it went too far, they happen all the time when you get a bunch of alpha males together. But if it was punching a coach, I don't see how Gus can keep him. If he has to kick him, its a huge deal for AU.

Wow...that is interesting...saw him as a mismatch nightmare for us in the first game...
I knew UofL played them too, but this is a UK board lol. I don't know what happened, but he has only attended their first practice and even the AU fans say he isn't a big team guy. The fight with the other athlete isn't a huge issue to me, that happens on every campus with that many unless is more of a beating than a fight. But if its the one where he punched a coach several times Gus can't let that right. I don't think anyone has been arrested, could easily be another reason. But the longer it takes for him to get his discipline issues worked out the better for you guys, he is a good player, probably their best offensive weapon.
No he can't...fights on the practice field is no real big deal but swinging at a coach is something different..
It's not like Petrino hasn't been punched before..........I'm sorry I don't think that was on the football field.

Oh, come'on Grumpy! You know as well as I do that Williams will be suiting up for Auburn against UofL and every game the rest of the season. UT, AU and UofL - you don't get dismissed from those teams unless bail is denied...
I agree, but if ha actually physically attacked one of the coaches at practice I don't see how they can keep him. But if it's anything else short of a capital crime he plays, witout him they are looking at 5 losses, maybe more

Yeah wouldn't want to injure his hand with the coaches face. That coach should have ducked to prevent the chance of injuring him.
Lets be clear, punching the coach is a rumor on the AU board, I don't know that it happened. But the guy has had several physical altercations while there with other student athletes..
He is a sr. If he doesn't play for AU this year is college days are over, an agent will grab him, give him some advance money, and he will train for the combine and will wear it out.
