SIAP - Orlandis Poole - As dirty as Higgins, maybe worse.

It's unbelievable that the SEC hires him.
After all the things I have read about him I think he might be the most corrupt ref ever. He is also most likely a snitch. It was never proven but it had to be him who rolled on his fellow refs in the NBA.

Probably because he was in on it too and got caught. So he ran t9 college and is up to old tricks. Dude never needs to officiate anything ever again.

I’m going to agree with you, he is crooked and cowardly so he would roll over on his own Mother. Guess this is about reforming and giving second chances.

Thing is this isn't the first time he has screwed UK over. He got us last year at TAMU. There are a couple of threads about this guy from past years on the rafters. At this point the whole SEC should be investigated for criminal activity.

Here's one.

How the f**k does someone with that past, a history of questionable calls, and a connection to the Donaghy scandal have a job officiating major college basketball?
Scott Foster was associated with Donaghy and absolutely nothing happened to him. He's currently one of the most high profile refs in the NBA. He's been voted the worst ref in the league by the players multiple times and has a very high profile feud with Chris Paul where Paul is constantly the victim of ridiculous technical fouls and bad calls. And apparently the league knows about it because Paul said last year "It's personal. The league knows, everyone knows. There's been a meeting."

Here is his record for UK games. It actually isn't to bad W vs L until later years. He did the Gonzaga game in December.

Interesting...this shows to me he doesn't have a bias against Kentucky, but it cements the idea that the league gives these guys their marching orders. The SEC wants as many teams in the tournament as possible. UGA needs a signature win. Let's face it, Kentucky shoots their normal % they probably squeak out a win but the agenda is to control the game as best as you can as an official to give UGA a chance at a win. I don't know if you'll convince me otherwise.

This article makes a lot of sense .. brings logic and reason to the way that game was called.

Refs can, and do, control the game in too many ways. It's not always # of fouls and # of FTS (those that pointed out that half of UK's FTS came after the game was in hand)... It's about WHO is being called for fouls, WHEN fouls are called, the TYPE of fouls called. This allows keeping certain players on the bench, allows for fouls to be called such that no FTS happen... Or they do... SO MANY THINGS. Same with some turnovers.

I knew we were going to lose when a ga. Player holding the ball slid 10-12 feet on their back looking up at the ref... And the ref clearly saw it swallowed the whistle.

UK did not play their best.... BUT a game being called this way sucks away any momentum from individual players and a team...and essentially defeats a team. Builds confidence in the team that knows their getting calls... Kills the confidence in the team being screwed.

Commentators kept saying UK not matching Ga physicallity... Yet UK gets called for more fouls playing less physical. Not logical.

This article confirms a lot.

It's unbelievable that the SEC hires him.
It's not "judgment", it's straight up gambling. The NBA canned him for what appears to be suspicions, or at least to cut off suspicions of gambling the spread before they started. The reason the NBA does this? Because they already got caught, so now they police it.

All we need is ONE ref in the NCAA to get caught and go to prison and maybe we get this shit out of here. If that ever happens, watch out, because Kentucky will unload on one helluva vengeance tour.

Most of the time still discussing poor officiating this much removed in time from a game would evoke a beating a dead horse comment or two. In this case it hasn't plus this article surfaces. The reaction here over the past almost two days clearly demonstrates how obvious the bias officiating was in that game. There are too many clips of various calls circulating on social media for anyone to deny that something was very wrong with this game.

Yeah I think you nailed it. The SEC has the major hand in all of this.

Poole's numbers are about in line with the other refs at 70%ish win rate for UK.
Shows is 98-42 70%,
Oglesby is 19-10 65%,
Anthony Jordan is 59-18 76%.
Don Daily who was on the floor the other night is 40-10 80%.
Sirmons is 48-16 76%
The Two standout are

The Rooferee 4-5 44%. All his loses are huge NCAA tourney games.
Brain Dorsey who is 3-7 30%.

To really know for sure if these refs are moving the needle someone would have to cross compare the games to the spreads. I guess if someone can code they could write a program and dump the data into it to compare.

@NociHTTP - just wondering if you have changed your mind any recently on the officiating in the game. I’ll admit I was being difficult during the game, but it was blatantly obvious that those officials were absolute trash. Have you seen the replay on the Butler “foul” on 3 point miss? Garbage call. Check it out in this thread below. Seriously, I’m not trying to be nasty, I’m honestly curious your thoughts.

If that stat about him having 22 calls go against UK and ZERO go against A&M is true
Narrator: It was not.

Come on guys. Use your head. Or don't, just listen to smart people like me.

You think a referee would call 22 fouls on Kentucky, and none on the other team and this is the first you're hearing of it? That stupid tweet was copied on to the board last year, and IMMEDIATELY debunked.

This is not a real article anymore than any post on this board. Some jackass just went and wrote a bunch of stupid shit. The fact he put that 22 fouls tweet in there tells me everything I need to know. Can anyone find one source about Poole not working nba

He didn’t say 22 fouls. He said 22 calls against Kentucky.

I'll look but I can look at gambling numbers. UK opponents have covered +9.5 in every game he's officiated the past 7 years.

He's not anti UK, he's pro spread

Yeah but here's the thing about referees, it's a very insular group. So while we are pissed about all these calls, they'll pick one out to review, which from a common sense perspective looks wrong, but then they'll go well chapter 3 section 1 b of stanza 2.5 states that if you're sliding down the court like you're on a waterslide backwards but your foot doesn't hit the floor until 3.8 seconds it's actually not a travel.

They'll pat themselves on the back, ignore everything else that went on

And said 0 against Texas A&M.
He called a foul on them before the first TV timeout.

Yeah some guy corrected him and said he did in fact make ONE call against A&M. Is that correct? I will go back and watch the tape if the game is on YouTube. I honestly want to know.

If that stat about him having 22 calls go against UK and ZERO go against A&M is true, the fact that the man still has a job as an official is outrageous.
Exactly. That’s statically impossible without corruption or an agenda

Honestly. Every UK fan on Twitter should be posting this article to the NCAA and SEC. Not that they aren’t already aware but this should be trending
