It just seems like there is always overreaction anytime basketball players get into any kind of scuffle .
Meanwhile hockey players are celebrated for fighting .
Don’t hear the thug word come out for baseball pitchers throwing at another players head or fights in baseball in general .
Fights are part of hockey. It's expected. Been part of that sport since it's inception.
And I've seen that word used for baseball fights. I see what you're trying to do- not biting.
Yeah, Houston fans acting like they won something because Thompson threw Herro to the floor. He got tossed and the got a big fat L.

I’m not doing anything but stating how all those sports are viewed.
And fighting being apart of hockey is one silly excuse . Sure fighting happens in Hockey but I’m sure when reaching the sport of hockey fighting isn’t taught .

Just saying that hockey and fighting are joined at the hip. It's one of the most physical sports in existence. It's not officially taught but you can guarantee other players help teach new guys how to do it. Refs don't intervene as quickly and it's accepted by the players. 98% of players surveyed in that sport believes it should continued to be allowed because it's part of the sport.
There's really no comparison.
I thought I might still have something at 45.. I in fact did not.. Dude got behind me from in front of me not once but twice and got me in a choke hold.. And could not stop it.. Later found out he was an amateur mma fighter that fought on weekends..
Yep. Never start ish with a dude with coliflower ear. It won't end well. Also, in my 46 years, take little guys for granted at your own peril. I'm 6'2", and not a fighter. But a few years the Marine Corps taught me not only to take care of my self, but being able to spot the dudes to avoid. Size doesn't bother me at all, but I know the attitude to watch out for.
And thats fine if thats how you do, but dont walk around like a peacock and talk tough when youre too much of a () to stop a guy from pimp slapping in front of millions. The big difference is Mother Nature can't go to prison or be sued for monetary damages from injuring someone with a lighting bolt but a real person can for causing bodily harm by physical contact.
I see your point, but without knowing what was said by Herro, it is hard to pass judgement without knowing everything that occurred. The NBA is filled with grown ass men who are not to be played with. If you are going to trash talk, you better be able to back it up. For Herro to have gotten tossed, the refs must have heard something from him that they didn't like and must have believed he started the confrontation.
Worse than that happens in most Church pick up games I played in way back. The outrage over everything is just crazy these days. Herro was talking shit he got hit (or thrown down) . You don't like that risk then don't wag jaw at the other player. Still wasn't right he got in same trouble. But thi g has been way overblown..
Running your mouth to someone because you think you are protected by the game is just dumb. I can assure you under no circumstances would Herro have said whatever he said to Thompson if they were on the street without what he thought was protection. As the old adage goes, don't let your mouth write a check that your ass can't cash.
