Should Poythress play the 5?

He frequently IS. VERY often in fact. Have you not watched any Warriors games this year, either?

They might be starting Bogut at center, but they switch into that smaller lineup with Green at the 5 very early in every game, and continue playing it quite many minutes every single game, if you start paying attention you'd notice that it's also the lineup they tend to have in at crunch time in close games. Why? Because it happens to the one that's been working best for them the last couple years.

Again, you really might consider trying actually watching some of these games you post about.

I have watched a lot of their games this year and there are only rare moments when they play without a center and it is typically when they are attempting to exploit certain matchups.

You clearly have not been watching (or at least not understanding) their games if you think there are "only rare moments" when they play that small lineup. For cripes sake, it's only the style the Ws have become famous for the last couple years. They play it a lot, indeed it's essentially the lineup that won the title for them last year.

Honestly, you are too consistently clueless on too many threads to continue debating. A waste of time arguing with someone who doesn't even seem to know what he's watching.

While Ulis is probably our most important piece, I think a strong argument can be made for Alex. He has the athleticism to play the 5, especially if he stays in beastmode. We're a different team if he's passive. I think the beastly Alex is here to stay. I like our chances. Go Big Blue!

Take it outside.

In certain scenarios, he should. Sometimes when we run the DDMO, he should be at the 5 on offense and let Labissiere or Willis man the 4. I would like to give Labisierre a shot at being a stretch 4 in the DDMO.

When he is in there with Lee, I like him at 4 and Lee at the 5.

Defensively, Poy should guard the 4 unless Willis is there with him inside, then he should defend the 5. He is stronger and more athletic than Willis, so put him on the biggest guy.

Poy can play a hell of a lot bigger than 6'8'' at the 5 if he's using his athleticism. There's been plebty of examples of smaller, athletic, smart centers. Don't act like there hasn't been. We won't be doing anything that crazy, and it gets the most athleticism talent on the floor and in the best spotsf or the most minutes (C, Poy/Lee PF: Skal, if he improves/Lee)

I made a post not long ago that I would like to see Alex at the 5. Alex can play the 5 very well I think. Skal could be the back up and let Lee play the 4.

Cal stated in the post game he wanted Derek to be the stretch 4 to back up Poy, and Skal to back up Lee at the 5.

How can any reasonable poster ever recommend Skal at the 3???

Agreed Poe. I think we need to use Skal more as a stretch 4. What do you think?

I am not sure he has time to actually evolve to a point that he becomes a major asset on the low block.

Might as well get some benefit from that good shot of his.

My fear is the limitations may exceed beyond what we already know.
