Should Barker Play Against EKU? (Non QB Controversy Thread)

I would like first team skill players to shine, and the O & D to have the game well enough in hand for Barker to get one or two series in the first half with the first team and most of the second half snaps.

My goal would be for Towles to continue the great play to start the contest and Barker to get enough quality reps to earn a "ready to take over in a moment's notice" reputation.

If PT gets his bell rung in a future contest, I want Barker and his teammates confident he can step in.

Can't agree with that, the athletic field isn't a place for cheap shots to get revenge for something that started in a bar/club. I really can't see how anyone could possibly think it would be. How do you feel about taking a knee out of a kid who just made a big play?

Not sure how it's anything but personal at this point... Did you see the video of the sucker punch? If not go watch it... A very dangerous moment which could have killed him--happens across this country all of the time...

Something just doesn't add up about that story, and I can't put my finger on it... Why wasn't the EKU player prosecuted with video evidence?

Go CATS![/QUOTE]

It was handled exactly as it should have been. No charges means less media coverage for both programs. Our players were told to stay the hell away from bars by another teams campus and the sucker punches won't be a problem. Both coaches will tell their players to put it in the past like adults and play the game. If a player on either team brings the adolescent past onto the playing field they will have a seat.

I hope we beat EKU by 50 or 60. I really do after I saw that sucker punch on Barker. Honestly, I wish Stoops had more of a mean streak at times. He needs to be a little more like Spurrier and pour it on inferior teams. Dominate them and don't let up. There is nothing wrong with beating a team by 50 points IMO. I want to see it. It gives us an edge in mentality as a program. Send a message to the other teams in the state that we are now the #1 program. Beating EKU and UL is an absolute must this season. I really want to play WKU too.
Hell yeah. I remember one time when Jimmy Johnson was coaching Miami, he begged his Hurricanes to run the score up. I like that. We have took our share of ass kickings through the years, so I say it's time we start administering some of our own.

Yes everyone is right about the football field is no place for revenge, etc. Now everyone who has contributed to this threat knows or should know it happens and it happens a lot. These are big, fast and aggressive men/boys filled with testosterone. and, often, poor judgement.

If I were Drew or the other guy I'd watch my ass out there.

I say Baker should be allowed to play with a glass mug in his hand.
Hasn't he and his buddies already used a beer bottle against an EKU player? Seems like once would be enough, after all same can be said, the EKU kid was badly injured , ended up in the hospital and it could have had a much worse outcome also. Just who should Barker be aiming for? Someone who wasn't there on that night, someone who transferred in, perhaps another kid who had absolutely nothing to do with any of this. BTW, the kid in the altercation in the dorm was a former UK player (Graffee) maybe, as someone suggested, there is more here from his time in Lexington. In a bar fight there's always two sides, there was only one side in the media, and we all know what that one was. Stoops is taking the high road, you can bet so will Coach Hood. It's time to let this go. The EKU football family has had the ultimate heart break this week, looks like we could just all hope for a clean game, where no player is hurt. I am sure both coaches want that, I would hope that fans could take the high road here too. We all are representing universities in Kentucky. And after all this IS a football game, not the U.S. Marines reining hell on ISIS.
