I know I am still having nightmares of last years Wisconsin game ,but is any one else surprised we have had so many shot clock violations. I know the shot clock was shortened but with our 3 guard line up I didn't see us having any problems with getting a shot off. Anyone else surprised?

A tad aggravating. Even thought it didn't hurt us last night I would hope Cal reminds them to stop it before the Vandy game.

Last night we had a couple players pass up open shots at end of clock to make extra pass. Need to do a better job of recognizing time and not pass up open shots. Out of our 6 turnovers we had 3 were shot clock violations.

Plus not having a viable inside player to go to. Cal's stand around offense was very evident early last night.

It is so aggravating,I have to fight the urge to throw something when it happens, get a damn shot up there guys:chairshot:

I think we saw more sc violations last night because Cal noticeably told everyone to get tge ball into the paint and not settle for threes. The guys seemed to stick to that plan until the very end of the clock. There has to be a little give and take there, if it gets under 8 seconds and you haven't figured out how to get it inside it's time to fire it from outside.

If I remember correctly 2 of those did get off a shot but we're air balls. Not really any comfort, but at least there were attempts. I think some shots in there were also blocked? Am offensive coordinator make be a good idea.

Don't know, how many have the had this season, 4 or 5??

You might want to listen coach sometime so that you're not so confused about what happens in games too. He intentionally flipped the script and slowed the offense down just specifically for the Arkansas game. (Coaching) The fact that they had a few shot clock violations was predictable even if not desirable.

Obviously it had zero effect on the offensive production.

The majority of shot clock violations have almost always been because somebody passed up an open look and instead tried to drive the ball into a wall of defenders. That has got to stop.

I doubt we would even be talking about it, if not for those that cost us a shot at a title, last year. Now, we are wondering why we see so many.

We are trying to run an offense. If the goal is to find an open big man underneath for the play your running it might take a while. Usually at the end of those plays it involves a wild shot.
Personally I like just shooting a wide open shot. We usually have a few of those every play.
