Shiyazh Pete is a Cat

IDC he can get the best player at every position in the portal. If you have teams that are undisciplined, have poor leadership and antiquated offenses.....it's not gonna go well

Stoops tried to leave us last year and would've, had the opposing fan base not imploded. I don't want a coach that doesn't want to be here. I've seen enough. He has reached his ceiling here and that's that.

Bring Sumrall home and we are stacked in our coaching ranks at UK

Why post this? What was the point?

This was the biggest need left for our team and our staff went out and got him!!!

Kudos to them!! Now it’s time to REDEEM themselves and the program!!!

Looks like our NIL people did “Pony Up”, now it’s time for Coach Stoops to do the same!!! No more excuses!!

Get HIS program back to a work ethic and discipline!!! It’s what has been missing during this slide!!

I understand his post. It's ok to be excited about another good player being added to the roster but talent acquisition and overall roster talent has not been an issue in our recent slide the last few years. A lack of team discipline, a lack of imagination on offense and running vanilla schemes on defense, a lack of continuity on the offensive staff, etc. have caused a lot of issues.

So even though I am impressed with how the staff has addressed most needs at a fairly high level in the portal, with their backs to the wall, I understand fans hesitation to get overly excited about another season that will most likely be .500 at best due to several factors.

With all that being said, Pete looks like a really good player and I'm glad we got him. Here's hoping we don't waste his talents with another Bill Curry looking offense again in 2025.

He literally said he doesn't care no matter what. Why bother posting? Adds nothing to the board. Everyone is frustrated, we get it. No need to flood every thread saying the same crap over and over again.

We don't need to see that post in EVERY thread. The time for Stoops to go, if he was going to go this year, has passed. He IS going to be our coach this coming season, whether it's what we want or not. What I don't get is the "NO, BE MISERABLE!" posts in every damn thread about anything.

I hoped Stoops would choose to leave this year, I hope he maybe looks at this year as one last chance to right things before he retires (remember, for years we heard talk of how he might retire young like Bob). I'm ready for the post-Stoops era. But in the meantime, I'm gonna cheer for my team and I'm not gonna just bitch and moan constantly. We had no hope going forward with the roster we had last year, that was full of undisciplined and disappointing players. Stoops had one move to make (after he decided he was staying on as UK coach), and it's the one he's making. Can a bunch of guys transferring in, largely an all star team of guys from lower tiers, compete in the SEC? We'll see. Can Stoops coach them up? Last few years have been disappointing, but he's also overachieved with "lesser" talent in the past. If the offensive line they assembled is a substantial improvement, we have a shot to be a decent team. Not a great team, and certainly not going to compete for 8+ wins with the brutal schedule we have. But a team that can fight their way to .500 like Vandy did this year? Sure. Or they could come in and be another group that plays undisciplined, that the coaches don't put in positions to win, or who just aren't capable of competing at this level. We could end up 3-9, another disaster. And that could be the law straw for Stoops.

That's that? Says you? I think you will be surprised.

You are correct that there has been more than enough bitching. Bitching is contagious among unhappy people. This negative stuff is toxic, habitual, and polarizing. It wears people down and creates a false sense of inevitability. People have to be pretty miserable to behave that way, and they want everyone else to be miserable with them.

But let's use our heads for a change. There is no arbitrary ceiling on UK's football program. There is no greater power dictating that UK football cannot be successful. There is no such thing as the "curse of the Bear". In fact, there is no reason UK cannot win games, as long as our team controls the point of attack upfront and protects the football. Clearly, our coaches are addressing the problems. Let's see some positive recognition.
