I, as most of the BBN, have tended to love our players with two/hyphenated last names and Giligeous-Alexander appears to fit right into that category. As part of the Derby Classic experience players visited Norton Children's Hospital and met with patients in the Addison Joe Blair Cancer Care Center. I know this isn't something that SGA decided to up and do on his own, but through his interactions with the kids you can tell that he's got a big heart. We undoubtedly have some of the best talent in the nation, but more importantly I feel Cal recruits players with THE BIGGEST hearts. Boogie Clause, Jones mentoring Stone Cold Willow, WCS relationship with the young man who lost his battle with cancer, Wall giving scholarships to underprivileged students, etc, etc. Damn I'm proud to be a Big Blue fan!

In fact, use this thread to post any instance that players, coaches or the whole team have given back to others less fortunate than themselves. Maybe it will rub of Loserville and UNCheat fans who come here to hate.

How about the Hoops for Haiti telethon that brought in over a million dollars? Also don't they do some kind of shoes for people each year (called Good Samaritan or something)?

Yes, Samaritans Feet Organization helps provide shoes to people in third world countries, Minardi Hall excluded, that frequently suffer from foot-borne diseases. Minardi Hall is excluded due to the fact that people's feet typically don't touch ceilings.

Go Big Blue!!!
