And then there were 2. It's come down to #5 seed Mary Ann from Gilligan's Island (1964-67) challenging #3 seed Jeannie from I Dream of Jeannie (1965-70).
These were the top 2 vote getters in the 60's-70's vote (where you could vote for up to 3), and they were pretty close.
In her 3 head-to-head matches, Mary Ann easily beat Crissy (Three's Company) and then Carrie (King of Queens), and then Samantha (Bewitched).
While Jeannie got a 1st round bye, then also easily beat Joy (My Name is Earl) and Gloria (Modern Family).
Voting will be open for 3 days, so ending late Sunday morning.

Damn. This is a tough one. Jeannie was played up for being the sexiest thing on two feet in her show, while Mary Ann was the girl next door, supposedly overshadowed by another.

Stranded on a desert island with Mary Ann, or live with subservient Jeannie as an astronaut in Florida (not sure that was show's actual supposed setting). Mary Ann would start getting kind of "wooly" after a month or so. I'll take Jeannie.

Not sure how the seeding worked out but Mary Ann should've been a one, maybe the overall seed in fact. If you pose this question to anyone around 40 and over, one of the first responses you'd get is Mary Ann. She was the it girl from next door. IMO her as a five seed would be like our 2012 squad listed as a five seed. Good tournament though. I miss the hell out of Nick At Nite from the early to mid 90s. Now they've got shows like Everybody Loves Raymond on there.

Jeannie, Beautiful Barbara Eden. She has aged gracefully over the years. Loved when she came on an episode of Andy Griffith as a new manicurist in town and all of the men in Mayberry were intimidated by her beauty at first.

A week or more ago, a list of 10 sitcom women from the 60's & 70's was posted, and everyone could vote for up to 3. The same was done for the 80's & 90's, and then for the 2000's. The top 3 vote getters from each Era got a 1, 2 or 3 seed, the 2nd place vote getters from each Era got a 4, 5 or 6 seed. The next 4 overall vote getters got a 7-10 seed. And then there was a run-off across eras for the 11 & 12 seeds.
Jeannie slightly edged out Mary Ann when people could vote for 3 from that era. And Carrie (King of Queens) was the top vote getter among the 3 2nd place Era women, taking the 4 seed.

Forgot about that and I voted in those (been a long week).

I think many vote based on who they watched as teens. And even though was on reruns, many of us watched these 2 growing up.

They had their suitcases, so she probably had a razor.

Most of my girls next door have looked more like Mrs. Howell.
I Was dating the girl next door from my mother's house after my divorce from my first wife. She said she had always had a crush on me when me and my ex would come to visit. Once divorced, she contacted my mother to see if I wanted to go out with her when I got back into town. I said no at first thinking she was still around 13 or 14 (as I remembered her) not realizing about 10 years had passed since I last saw her. When I got home and realized she was 23 or so, (I was 33) I said ok. She was very attractive (looked a lot like Lee Ann Rhimes) and we struck up a relationship. It was a little difficult as she lived in Smyrna Tn. and I was stationed at Ft. Sill OK., but we would meet on weekends in Conway Arkansas when I could get away.

We dated for a while until the Gulf War and after being gone for a for about 6 months, she sent me the dreaded dear John letter a few weeks before I was to come home saying she was seeing another.
