All posturing for Kansas to pay his buyout when he bolts.
And under NCAA rules Self doesnt have to have known, under strict liability coaches are still accountable either way. And I'm not sure what he could sue for just yet, the NCAA hasn't DONE anything to him. The school released the info that got out, not the NCAA. And since there is no conclusion yet, how did the NCAA do him harm?
the obvious available recourse once they blew it with unc. i too am enjoying the ncaa eating it, because they caused all of it by shredding their own reputation for oversight. maybe the legal recourse would have been identified in time anyway, but suing the ncaa was at one time unpopular just because of the reputation you’d have for fighting them made you look defiant of their rules. now that’s all gone. everyone with a money making program threatened with sanctions will fight them. the pandora’s box was easily spotted years ago.You bet he is, ucheat and dook are like 100% against the ncaa, I would bring the bucks and the legal team and make them bow down to Self and the jaywalkers.
Maybe they can bring Ole Roy back. He knows how to dodge those NCAA bullets.
They won't take a dime away from Emmert. The NCAA generates $1B from March Madness, they'll take the lawyer fees out of the money that would go back to the schools.
Keep in mind litigation is a 2-way street. The NCAA gets subpoena power once a complaint is filed. They can depose coaches and players under oath. Subpoena bank accounts, cell phone records, tax returns. This would be great news if I trusted the NCAA to actually take advantage of the opportunity.
