I don’t think it’s an accident that Auburn and Florida will be in an SEC elimination game in final four. Now maybe Mich St wins today. But assuming Auburn takes care of business.

This prevents Duke from having to play 2 best teams. They beat a terrible offensive team in Houston and then get UF or Auburn. You’ll never convince me it’s not rigged.

Remember your god awful Florida post you dipshit? When you said the SEC was overrated and Florida was done against UCONN? 😂 You’re awful

But I wasn’t it mostly Duke was an obvious east one seed and Houston midwest one seed ?

I am not sure how the seeds get bracketed once they get to final four…but it’s pretty clear the one seeds per region are correct

Yes the committee looked ahead in time and just assumed these would be the two teams in the final four and since they hate the SEC so much (despite putting you know 14 of them in this thing) they decided to put them on the same side of the bracket so one had to be knocked out.

WHAT.

Well, I see your point and originally thought that as well, but I still think Alabama was the toughest 2 seed (as opposed to Michigan State, St. John's, and Tennessee).

If Duke gets through Bama, Houston, and either Florida or Auburn, you have to tip your hat. Those are basically three of the top 6 teams all season (with Duke being a fourth).

1 plays 4.

So Auburn was the overall 1 seed and went South. Florida was the last of the 1s and went West.....thus we get West vs South.

I have more of an issue of where they got to play to get to the final four. Raleigh/New Jersey. New Jersey is Duke central. They all cheer for Duke up there. It’s basically a home game.
You do realize tourney sites were decided 3-4 years ago and they attempt to place top seeds near their campuses right?

Then who should've been? St. John's that crapped the bed against a mid Cal?
Alabama was the strongest two seed, so they could have made an argument for the last 1 seed, and they just curb stomped by Duke, so there you go.

I meant Florida should have been a higher 1 seed.

Even after watching Duke and Houston and what they've done this tournament?

I mean an argument could have been made for any of the four teams but I have a hard time definitively saying one of these teams is all that clear cut better than the other.

And either way I totally disagree with the OP that UF was slotted fourth to set up this Auburn UF matchup should it come to that.

I can't consider what happened in the tourney as that was after the seeding. I would have probably switched Florida and Houston. I thought Florida winning the SEC tournament was more impressive than anything Houston and Duke did all season combined.

Fair enough

I just don't think we can really penalize teams for having in a conference they have to play in.

Play in a weaker conference just win by more points. And Duke and Houston both did that.

Plus we know how the committee doesn't look at what happens Sunday in the SEC tournament final.

They did destroy Bama. Did not think that would happen

While Florida and Maryland had to fly their teams and fans literally coast to coast for their games. Houston had to travel all the way there too. BS.
