SEC+

Unlike a lot of you, I don’t spend most of my life on Rupp Rafters.
If you figured out how to created a login for an obscure website about college athletics and signed in to a message board of all things, I’m confident you can figure out how to watch a game on the ESPN app by signing into your TV provider. The constant yelling at the clouds by the fanbase over this is becoming borderline hilarious.

I’ll sure try that.

It’s wild! Even crazier is that this has been going on for a few years now. This is not a new phenomenon!

I paid a lot of money per month to add ESPN and SECnetwork so I could watch the Cats. Now they want $10 or $20 more to add the + versions of these. Nope, enough’s enough. I’ll just ask somebody who won.
Do you have a smart TV or a computer? You already have access to it. Just have to get the ESPN app. I can walk you through it if you need help with it. They make it about as confusing as possible to try to sell more plus subscriptions I guess.

Not that simple. My app has the ESPN+ broadcast most of the time. Says ESPN+/SEC+ under the game but when I go to it it automatically takes me to the ESPN+ sign up even though my YTTV is already signed in. I have to go to the SEC tab and find the game labeled SEC+ only. Sometimes its already on the front page. Sometimes I have to navigate. The problem is it is inconsistent and seems to be pushing you to getting a sub you don't need.

So its not so simple for older people that aren't as tech savvy. Some of the winners in here probably don't think about that though and would rather just come in here and make comments that help no one.

I’d suggest contacting a technical specialist at ESPN if there are issues with the user interface. There is only one internet game left and thankfully we can all return to complaining about rebounds and not logins.

If you are an old person trying to figure this out, stay away from using the ESPN app that tries to push you to buy ESPN plus, just google then go to ESPNWAtch on a computer and select the game on the schedule pull down and chose SECplus (not the ESPNplus option) and use the prompts to enter your dish, or Verizon, or direct tv or Hulu provider user name and password (that you have to set up before doing all these steps at your provider's web site).. If you need more instruction, reply to this post you need help and I'll walk you through it. To do what I suggested all you need is provider service to your TV, then a computer with operating system that's not too old, and the user name and password to your TV provider (like Dish) but you don't need an ESPN app.

That would do absolutely nothing. You don't seem to understand the actual problem.

It goes smoothly for you all congrats but its obviously a little confusing for others. Nothing to shame them about.

The APP is very clunky, i agree.

I'm glad it works so smoothly for some of you.

No offense but your reply is hilarious. You’re on a message board. What do you want me to do? You want me to walk over to your house and help you set up? What are you expecting lol? People were kind to literally send you step by step and provided alternative means to watch the game. Just listen to it on the radio and then watch the YouTube video of the full game later on. Problem solved — we are not technical specialists on retainer for you here. Lol my guy

I dont need the help. OP does. You don't understand the problem because you haven't encountered it. I have and know the solution. I am simply saying you can't help so just don't say anything.

It is a message board for UK fans. So why not help your fellow UK fans watch the game?

The easiest way I know to explain it on a smart tv is don’t click on the game at the top as it will most likely take you to the espn+ version. Scroll down the page until you see a list of different conferences. Scroll to the right and click on sec. Then any game you click will be sec+ games that you can watch for free, including the UK game

I have repeatedly. Don’t know what else to do. I have just as much right to dunk on the repeated complainers as you have to dunk on me for doing it. I’m just pointing out it has gotten far beyond excessive.

"So glad you created a thread for this. If there is one thing this page is in dire need of, it’s more people complaining about SEC+. Lol"

That was your very first reply to this particular post. You realize the human race isn't a hive mind right? This could very well be a person who hasn't asked or hasn't seen the other posts. And that is the very first response he got.

Just an unnecessary comment. Which was my point. Not helping then just don't be a jerk. Seems simple enough for me.

I have two elderly parents and I can tell you that some people are way, way underestimating how difficult this stuff can be for older people.

One way to do this from an app on your TV:

1. Download ESPN App to your TV
2. Open ESPN App
3. Go to settings in the app and then TV provider info and login using your login and password for YouTubeTV, Spectrum, Hulu, Dish, DirecTV or whatever by following those instructions
4. Once TV provider info has been validated, go back to home screen of the app and find game in Live & Upcoming
5. Click on game
6. You might be presented with a screen that has multiple options for watching the game. Choose the one the mentions SEC+ (NOT ESPN+)
7. If you are asked to sign up for ESPN+ at this point, go back and look for the game that mentions SEC+
8. You MIGHT have to do instructions 5-7 closer to game time such as 5-10 minutes before

You could also do similar instructions using your phone or tablet (with WatchESPN App) or a computer in a browser from: https://www.espn.com/watch/
Once the game is playing on your phone, tablet or computer, you can cast it to your TV if the TV and phone, etc. are connected to the same Wifi Network

Beyond that, look for the game on YouTube and watch a sub-standard broadcast where people may be talking over the action or the picture is shaky.

Last resort - listen to the game on the radio.

Does anyone know if you can go back and watch the game later on SEC+ if you miss it live?
Yes - but you can't do that for an indefinite amount of time. At some point, they will take it down. But in the first week or so after the game, you can.

I have my YouTubeTV set to record all UK Basketball games, so when the SEC network invariably plays a replay of the game late at night or early in the morning, my YTTV will record it.
