SEC Tourney or Final 4?

FF, obviously.

But I get so nervous before UK tournament games, I'm not sure I could sit through it.

No question Final Four. We are in the SEC tournament every year. Also, Indy is a fun town with lots of people there. It was in 97 when UK played in Final Four there.

I think most would choose the final 4 without question. I guess if I knew they would win the sec tourney and flame out early in the NCAAs then...well that's not happening. More likely is that if we take a loss this year it will be in the SEC finals before going on to smash the ncaa field.

Lucas Oil kinda blah
Lucas Oil Stadium is a palace and Indianapolis puts on a big event better than any other town in the country except maybe New York City.

Bustin my cherry here. Both options have their perks. Obviously a chance to witness a national championship is a no brainer. But the fact that I live in West KY. and have a chance to watch 3 games in 3 days is a big plus. I'm 1.5 hour from Nashvegas, so the 4.5 hour trip to rupp has always hindered getting to games in Lex.

There is no way I could watch a Tourny game anywhere but by myself. It sucks but it's the sad truth
I am the same way man. Have to watch all tourney games by myself in my basement.

The Final 4 falls on Easter weekend this year. How ironic that the last time Kentucky was in the Final 4 in Indy was 1997 and that was also Easter weekend.

I have wondered if the huge UK turnout at the Sec tourney kills the Big Blue attendance at the first sessions of the NCAA. Tough to get off work two weeks in a row and can be expensive

Been to both multiple times, and the SEC Tournament is more fun. You get to see more basketball games. You have more in common with people you meet there, and it's not the end of the world if you get beat. Plus it's far cheaper to attend.

I'll gladly take the 2 games of UK vs Kansas and Duke vs. Arizona (hypothetical) vs. watching a bunch of SEC teams play each other.

Nashville is party, Lucas Oil kinda blah, but it's FF!
I think Lucas Oil Stadium is pretty awesome, but to each their own. I'll be going to the Final Four this year. To me, it's a no brainer.

Simple. I refuse to choose. I want both! It's been 3 years since we won the SEC, and 4 since we won the tournament. I think we have the first firmly in sight, but I want the 2nd. And I want a national title not a Final 4. Isn't that what we UK fans do? Want it all and then some.

The bar scene around Lucas Oil is pretty good. UK fans everywhere and it feels like a party. Probably not the best kid-friendly place though.

Same thought I had.
While I think its obvious Final 4, there are some points:

-I know we are going undefeated, *cough cough*, but as my colleague Dr. FunKYcat75 pointed out, when 2010 happened, anything is possible.

-SEC tourney is more of a "good" time. I.e. all weekend long drinking with UK fans, eating, watching tons of games, partying late, getting up early, its all weekend, pretty chill atmosphere with not a lot of stress. Nashville so close, might as well behome games.

-Final 4- stress city (I will be very nervous, and any UK fan that says they wont, well...), opposing fans, bad seats. However, get to watch two really good games, then come back monday for final.

Yeah, you pretty much nailed it by my experience. There were some nice events surrounding the FF in Arlington last year, like the Springsteen concert. But for overall fun, the SEC Tourney is better. Plus, it's much, much easier to get decent seats at the SEC Tourney. I doubt I will go to another FF that isn't within a 3-4 hour drive from where I live.
