SEC schedule released tonight

'24 is going to be tough but, it's the calm before the storm. SEC is going to go to a 9 game schedule (probably in '25 or '26) which means one of our regular "guaranteed wins" will go away.
And that means our recruiting MUST take another leap up. Collectives are going to need to find new revenue streams to get better talent to Lexington and just to keep us at .500 in the SEC going forward. Wins are going to be tough to come by in this conference.

Yep, it does look like a murders’ row. We will get breathing room with our OOC opponents. That said, this is one of my pet peeves. We always complain that we don’t get the respect we deserve but as long as we have four cupcakes on the schedule it will always reflect poorly on our SOS and therefore our overall national profile. There are more than enough mid-level power five teams that we can handle that we shouldn’t be playing schools from non power five conferences. Plus, my opinion is driven by not really wanting to pay for season tickets only to watch three or four home games against a bunch of bunnies. Bring us just about anyone from the ACC or Perdue, or Nothwestern or Cincy or Minnesota or Rutgers or so many more. Just my two cents worth.

Any ideas as to when the actual play dates of the '24 SEC games will be made public? Thanks.

I believe Texas will have a new QB IN 24 if Ewers has some success in 23. But at this point he hasn't showed much to be heading to the NFL, but neither did Richardson. But coming out of spring practice Arch was running 3rd string behind a RS frosh and word was his throws had no zip.
Thinking Manning got his lofty rankings on name alone.

Texas did as well!!
Not sure there is an easy schedule on that list lol. Some easier than others, but all of those are difficult. Curious how many SEC teams land in the top 25 toughest schedules. Not sure this is going help the SEC come playoffs or bowl games. I just see all of us beating the hell out of each other, allowing teams from weaker conferences get the bowl/playoff bids.

The 9 game schedule will be the death of UK football as much as it pains me to say.

I think a 6 loss tewm from sec or big10 will be way more valuable then four loss UL, two loss Kansas st, two loss Cincinnati etc.

I think we are going to the power conferences leaving the ncaa... so it won't matter. The 60+ power teams will set their own rules and sure, some talking heads on tv will always ask "could Boise have beat UGA this year" but once this all gets settled the power conf will be even further ahead then they are now.

No Mississippi State on the UK schedule for the first time since the mid 1980s (1984 or thereabouts?)
I am pretty sure I am right...prior to State becoming a permanent west opponent, I think we played the Maroons less than any other team in the SEC since its inception.

UGA with the brutal road schedule next year. At Bama and Texas?! We're not a push over in Kroger, and Ole Miss under Kiff is always in the game.

Might be the toughest road schedule in the conference, which basically means the country.

I was in attendance the last time Texas played football in Kentucky.

Old timers might enjoy watching the first 2 minutes to see Jeff Brohm complete a pass to Coach Howard Schnellenber.

I feel like with TN, FL, GA, and ALA.......this season on our schedule....We're just getting warmed up for next year....We either sink or swim with schedules like this....and if we can split 50/50, win 2 of those 4 top games........I think Stoops would have another successful season in the books.

UK goes 10-2. with likely losses to GA and ALA...but the kicker is did we not play close to GA in 2021? I'd watch that first half over and over and figure out why UK was even capable of keeping GA by only a touchdown at the half in 2021. And I know we had capable offense in 2021, but its just mind numbing watching GA score 40+ points on teams...
