Rumors flying all over Twitter. Haven't seen anything Kentucky related. Except, indirectly Matt Jones said he saw a Texas one that did not have us. And if true, does look like we won't play every East team. Well see

No matter who we play - we will have a really tough schedule. I am one for playing the nine game schedule - but when I look at those potential schedules it looks like a murder's row of college football! Winning 4 of those games would have be deemed a successful season. 6-2 and that is playoff potential! The SEC only has a couple of weak links now and that is subject to change anytime!

Go Big Blue!

Off topic slightly…Cannot believe Kentucky opens at (AT!) Akron. When that agreed to probably 5-8 years ago I wonder what was the justification.

It's pretty easy to see why most coaches do not want 9 SEC games.

$TOOP$ will definitely be earning his paycheck !!

Away schedule is tough! Need to win 3 at home and steal 1 on road just to go 4-4.

Understand this is ONLY for ‘24. I bet they realign and go back to divisions in ‘25.

Divisions are archaic.

This way every team plays every other team every 2 years.

Don’t see why Cats would have to steal 1 on the road. I like their chances for 2-2

Leary could still be qb in 24.
Texas will have redshirt freshman qb and a terrible head coach.
Napier not tearing it up at Florida yet.
We should've beat Ole Miss there last year.
Auburn doesn't scare me.

6-2 isn't my prediction, but is a possibility.

I believe Texas will have a new QB IN 24 if Ewers has some success in 23. But at this point he hasn't showed much to be heading to the NFL, but neither did Richardson. But coming out of spring practice Arch was running 3rd string behind a RS frosh and word was his throws had no zip.

Leary will have another year of eligibility? Didn’t know that.

So we have opponents, not the schedule, right?
Righr, the actual dates will be worked out over the summer & the SEC schedule with all 12 games each will be released in I guess the fall.

IMO UK will be Texas's 1st SEC home game, probably week 3 2024.

Agree with @JHB4UK that it will likely be bought out. That's what uk always does.

UT and UK don’t have an available date on each calendar until Sept 28. So that is theoretically the earliest open date.

Didn't realize/remember UK is playing AT Akron this year.
We have a contact to play there. And I bet there is a penalty if they don't come. Probably don't have to get Akron buyoff as long as they tell them by a certain date. Breaking contract is easy. But finding a replacement come to our place and replace them is the hard part.

Yep, 2 criteria has to be met. Number 1 have to find a team who needs a game, number 2, out of those teams have to find one with open dates that will work for you schedule.

The motivation for this home and home would have been to increase our recruiting profile in northeast Ohio and avoid paying them a large fee to travel once to Lexington. In hindsight, probably not a very good deal for us, but I can understand what the thinking may have been 7-8 years ago.

Thanks. Three+ hours drive for me. Maybe I'll go.
