SEC had six of the top ten recruiting classes

That's one of the major issues UK has. Top tier teams are starting with a higher level of talent than UK is starting with every year. Coaching can make up some, but not all of that.

Good players like to play on teams that win and compete for championships.

That's why it's mind boggling to me that UK fans and other fans cheer for all SEC teams. I don't want rival teams - that my team has to beat in recruiting and on the field - to do well. I want them to fall on their ass at every opportunity.

It means that year in and year out we play 7 teams that are out recruiting us (we usually do a little better than Vandy). It's hard to overcome this difference in raw talent. BUT, we are moving up.

Football isn't played on paper. If it was, Alabama would win every year, nobody would have a clue who Oregon, TCU, Baylor, Wisconsin, Georgia Tech, or any of those teams are.
We have a lot to be happy about here, the talent gap has been closed (whether you decide to believe it or not, just because some players may be receivers in the SEC does not mean that they have 50 inch verticals and catch every 60 yard pass with one hand, our talent is good enough to beat a lot of SEC teams with)
We just have to develop the players, let them get experience, and call the correct plays. We do that, we win games and it can be against any team in the SEC. Fact.

SEC is hauling in an absurd amount of top talent...especially in the trenches...

UGA is stock piling the hogs...UT has pulled in some great D linemen...Florida is making a late push, signed one of the best OTs in the country...Mizzou signed one of the best DTs...that's just on our side...

The SEC is going to be fine, and the east is going to be strong again very soon...
