Two surprises last night:

-Auburn nips LSU in baton rouge. This LSU team is all over the place, losing their first series to A&M but then bouncing back to win the series in Gainesvile.

-UGA walks off UF in Athens. The same team that UK beat last weekend scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th to stun the gators.

-UT vs. Vandy with a blockbuster series in Nashville. GEt-in prices are $200+. Think Vol fans are excited about baseball?

-Arky hosts MSU. Wouldn't be surprised by an Arky sweep.

-Mizzou hosts USC Jr. Blah.

-Bama hosts A&M. Bama could be lookng for a new coach after this season too.

I live just south of Knoxville. Used to get VIP tickets to their games just handed to me pretty much all the time. Which was awesome because it featured free buffet and drinks. But yea, probably 80 percent of the stadium would be empty. Was pretty cool, one game I sat next to Charlie Puleo's wife and she was a treat to talk to about the game. Charlie was in the TV booth.

I can say that I don't think I heard more than 1 or 2 people ever mention UT baseball prior to last season. Now they're all experts. lol

Re the TN expert thing....2 months ago they couldn't tell you who the coach is but could tell you who their 4th string punter is. Now they come on all sage, baseball experts. Funny how they had guys who couldn't get the ball out of the infield but now are hitting 400 foot HRs. Juiced much?

Id poopoo on the UT fans, but we're no different. People in both states love baseball.
But Reds/Braves/Cardinals pretty much take precedent always unless the team is doing well and red hot. We get back to how we were in 2016 KPP will be packed.

LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Arkansas are pretty much locks to have packed and rowdy crowds always.

Absolutely we would. I live in Lexington. I go to a few games a season. I coule go to a lot more but its just not a priority when were not putting competitive ball out there. Reds are my first love anyway, of all teams and sports. How much bad baseball can a man be expected to take? I can go to Legends games and have as good or better a time because beer isnt a hassle, and Im not emptionally invested in if they win or lose. Thirsty Thursdays are great. A few ice cold barley pops and some hots dogs or nachos....just good ole fashioned fun. I get UKs alcohol policy but the reality is a rowdy environment helps recruiting. Kids want to play in front of crowds. Beer helps that. You eont have to like it or agree with me, but those are facts. It definitely made the student section at the Cliff fun. Give us an outfield area to set up grills and smokers, lounges, and enjoy cold beer without being hassled. We can do it for football...no reason we cant for baseball.

Even if they don't sell beer in the stadium, if they have an area where they turn a blind eye then it can help draw a good and rowdy crowd that is there to have fun. Like you see in college baseball stadiums across the south. UK should have embraced something like this in their planning.

Exactly. You dont want to sell, fine. But the outfield atmospheres in the SEC are rowdy because the students hang out and party.
