Season Opener Observations

One thing I didn't see mentioned here is Williams passing skills. That's going to be a big weapon in this system. He kinda reminds me of Moses Malone. I hope he can pick up his rebounding to make that comparison better.

In addition to his skill, he showed poise and confidence. Poise is one of those characteristics that don’t show up in statistics. Just as it’s good to be the king, it’s very good in basketball to be 7’ tall with skill and poise and confidence .

That is correct. Intelligent, as in keen, astute, and discerning observations about the first performance of the team against another opponent. As opposed to unintelligent, simpleminded concerns over trivial matters with which you and a couple others seem obsessed.

Don’t disagree as that’s my i
I did see a little negative just now... we gave up 31 rebounds (10 Offensive) to that team. I didn't love seeing that. No way KW should've gotten that many boards. Especially in a lopsided game. We've heard about this team's effort, and I'm not arguing that's incorrect. But, rebounding is mostly about effort. I know, first game, yada yada. Just pointing it out.

Kentucky had 43 rebounds (only 9 Offensiv
I don’t disagree bc reboundunt against bigger, more athletic teams this season is my only real matchup concern.

But also of note, the way we look at some stats will have to shift a little. Playing that fast will result in elevated numbers in general. Add to it that we shot the ball well so there were less offensive rebounding opportunities compared to KE who shot poorly and had more “at bats” to get offensive boards.

I’m not personally going to do it, but it would be cool to see the offensive and defensive rebounding percentages instead of raw totals
