Has CMS always had closed scrimmages or is this new? UGA had its first one today and like everyone since he has been here Kirby has it closed. But a few big boosters and parents were allowed in and they reported passing was about 2 to 1 running plays, defense is going to be very fast again. Biggest thing no new injuries.

Stoops is the same. Few select boosters get to watch practices & scrimmages. Once a Spring & once in Fall camp he will let media in a day to watch. Otherwise all locked down.

Yep! Anytime I was in Lexington during practice time I would go watch practice! My wife use to have meetings in Lexington every fall, so I would go to practice to kill time! It’s like Fort Knox now. Maybe the teams we play send spies! lol

I used to schedule bankruptcy hearings on practice days just to hang out. Jlo’s Mom looked like a teenager in 2000!

I met Joey Couch several times. Guy couldn’t have been bigger than 5’ 11”, and made some All-SEC lists at DT. He was just hanging out in the late 90’s, too.

Watching Tim Couch and Dewayne Robertson made practice trips worthwhile.

Kirby is damn paranoid about things getting out. Media gets 5-10 minutes of practice some days each week in season, sometimes its closed all week. they go 0 time between SEC championship and NC games. He has security patroling outdoor fields to make sure no one lingers too long or makes too many passes. But seems to be working so will deal with it. I imagine our spring game will have a few walkons, besides Stetson, showing out.

We have 4-5 starters missing Spring, including TE, Bowers and Washington. Washington had his 2nd surgery on his foot since arriving in Athens. Afraid we are about to lose Washington to the portal, he is a great blocker, but no where near the receiver Bowers is, or even Gilbert who has now decided he wants to be a TE. We may have a couple of young OL hit it too.
