He is just about the same skill level of my grandson, who dribbles equally well with either hand, sees the whole floor, and hits the open man for layups, if he cannot get to the basket. Just do like us, and let him have fun for another couple of years before worrying about it. If he is good enough, great. If not, don't put that kind of pressure on him. Generally, kids who are better than the others at that age, have the other kids catch up with them, about their freshman year.

Let him play multiple sports.. a lot of times kids get burnt out if you're playing from 10-18. You can love the game and still be burnt out especially if the challenge is repetitive.

Other sports will allow him to better other fundamental areas as well.
