Scott Frost

Shows you "name," "pedigree," and small conference "success" doesn't auto-translate to jack squat. He's got history and pedigree coming out his butt, and they're struggling with stupid decisions. Nebraska will be fine the rest of the year. No pressure on them and no expectations outside of Nebraska fans.

They might be able to hang a banner if they make the tourney.... bowl game this year

An Iowa Hawkeye alum is not gonna be fooled by the glitz and glamor of Nebraska, the beautiful winter landscape to come, and the promise of.. well ... nothing really. I'm sure they could make his eyes pop at the money they could offer, but if Stoops team does what I think is possible this year, he'll be seeing that here soon enough.

Stoops would have to be insane to go to Nebraska (or Auburn, for that matter). Unrealistic expectations, no recruiting in state, a tough conference, etc. He's got so much goodwill built up at UK that, even a couple of so-so years, he won't lose his job. Both AU and NE fire coaches who've won 8-9 games. UK gives their coach a raise. He's way too smart to leave UK for a certain firing in 5 years or less.

National Championship? Central Florida? Did I miss something????
They went 13-0 and have a Self-Proclaimed National Championship.

Commonly referred to as a SPNC.

But.... the latter is what gets your fired.

Read that his buy out drops in half Oct. 1.

If I were him, from that day forward, I would answer every phone call with, "New phone, who dis?"

Does anyone else think Central Florida would be good for the SEC? They have potential, and with SEC money and coach they could be interesting. I herd that place was amazing, and growing rapidly. I think I like the idea. Without knowing all that goes into choosing institutions for a conference realignment.

I imagine UF would fight it pretty hard, SEC can do better.

didn’t they just join the big 12? Not that it would matter. They’re a very big school and bring the Orlando tv market. They’re maybe not a take right now but they’re one to watch. UF would hate it though.

Got to more than just weather (recruiting) - Michigan, Ohio State and Wisconsin have bad weather. Whatever it is, Nebraska is a huge has-been - Kentucky is now a better football program and I thought I’d never say that.

With another good season Stoops is going to be a or maybe THE top choice of schools who will be looking. After yesterday, Nebraska most likely will be looking, Auburn probably too. I don't think he leaves, but it will cost some money. Mel Tucker is average and getting 9m+ a year. I expect Big10 with that crazy TV deal to make some runs at SEC coaches.

A lack of a dynamic offensive team is probably what kept Stoops down most lists a bit but that could change with this years team, if, things fall right. Quite a bit of things actually, the O line has to prove out, the young receivers have to be more ready than their ages suggest, and lastly, Levis must progress at the rate most of us expect! If all these things happen, Stoops could be a "red" hot name among coaches!

OH, my goodness!
Already we have rumors starting about schools coming after Mark Stoops!
And I see Nebraska mentioned.
Heck, if Saban doesn't win the college football championship. Bama might be in the hunt too!
How long will Notre Dame wait before they send a jet to Lexington to sweep him away?
W have to get Barnhart starting the fund to make Mark Stoops the largest paid coach in college football!
NOW

Not from $$$ viewpoint. Does not open up a new TV market for more $$$$$.

Why add someone who doesn't add money? Then you have a split with one (or two) more teams that doesn't add value. Your take is reduced. (Remember this is a capitalistic country, $$$ come first.)

They don't add anymore $$$ or national buzz. Don't see it.

A place who will likely be looking is AU, Stoops is going to be a fan favorite, already is, to replace Harsin. No idea why anyone would want to go there with the meddling the boosters do. It was Bobby Lowder for years but he got old and supposely now it's the Yella Wood guy. They just got rid of their AD last week. It's a cess pool of a school and is run like a high school. I can't see any established P5 coach going there let alone a good one.

Frost wasn't lucky enough to have Mitch Barnhart as his AD.
He'd get nine seasons to get to a winning record.
Frost dreams about P5 records as good as Stoops has had. Heck, if he could have a WINNING season, maybe Neb holds onto him. 🙏

The man could not win with Wan’Dale. 😬

The graveyard that is Nebraska.

Basically I agree with you but there's the little thing of coaches ego. Some of these guys think they can change the culture at a school, that's part of what brought Stoops to UK. Ego plus several million can sway a lot of guys.

I have no doubt Stoops will strongly consider bouncing. The whole NIL thing, the foot dragging on renovations, the BS suspensions, Calipari's diarrhea mouth could all serve to push him out the door. May not be Auburn or Nebraska but could be somewhere else.

Harbaugh made it to the Four. Has Scott had a winning season? Jim probably would make the case that he should not be mentioned with Frost.

Harbaugh has largely underachieved at Michigan until last year, but he's done much better than the guy who preceded him. Most of them won with the previous coaches recruits and then directly fell off in year 3.

Harbaugh had a bad '20; it nearly got him fired (along with the 0-fer record vs the Buckeyes). However, Michigan was a bàtshìt crazy ruled state during Covid and the Big 10 basically sent kids home/brought em back.

No way should Frost be mentioned with Harbaugh whatsoever.
