Scott Frost

Lol beat me to it. Can we fire Stoops and get this guy yet? That onside call after going up 10 was brilliant, best call I can recall seeing in a while.

They lost a ton of close games last year and are carrying on the proud tradition so far. Can't see any way they get back to glory years. With a top coach, maybe get to 8 wins/yr which gets you fired at NE.

Go up 10 points and try an onside kick that gave Northwestern the ball at their own 45 yd line. Just an unnecessary decision and they scored about 5 or 6 plays later. Have faith in your defense and make them drive the whole field. I couldn't believe what I was watching when they did that. He's TOAST!!!

The college football landscape has totally changed. With NIL and the transfer portal combined with truly national recruiting, programs like Nebraska are destined for the scrap pile. I can't see a way out for them. At best they can hope to be who we are. UK is a much better program and job at this point.

What happened to the Scott Frost that won a National Championship at Central Florida?
He’s like how Louisville was when they beat up on scrub teams every week in whatever scrub conference they were in. Their record was way better than their team was. Scott Frost is the same.

I never expected a Saban, but I did think he would make them respectable again. I was definitely wrong on this one.
I thought he was a slam dunk hire. His pedigree was perfect (so I thought);

1. Played under Bill Walsh for 2 years at Stanford and Tom Osborne for 2 years at Nebraska where he went 24-2 as a starter including 13-0 and a national championship his senior year.
2. Vital part of the coaching staff at Oregon that went to 2 Rose Bowls, 1 Fiesta Bowl and 2 National Championship games.
3. Takes over a UCF program that went 0-12 the year before he arrived and goes 1-0 in his second season.

When he was hired, I thought he’d bring Nebraska back to a really good program and I didn’t think there was a chance it would end like this. I’m shocked.

Kind of sad, their back-to-back title teams in the mid-90’s were absolutely dominant. Tommie Frazier, Lawrence Phillips, Grant Wistrom, etc. No gimmicks, just lined up and physically manhandled opponents on both sides of the ball.
For some reason, Osborne is often the forgotten coach when talking about the greatest coaches ever. 25 seasons at Nebraska, 3 national championships, 21 top 10 finishes and went to the Cotton, Fiesta or Orange Bowl in 21 of 25 seasons. They were an absolute power.

I would bet both of M Jones hair (edited: manhood was intentional meaning) that it is not happening

It’s not that simple. What he did at UCF was nothing short of amazing.
Why? He pulled in 2 good years at American Athl conference.....what is so amazing about that?

- The conference is Cincy, Tulsa, USF, UCF, Temple, UConn, Navy, Houston, SMU, Tulane, Temple, Memphis. Only Memphis, Cincy (lately) and UCF have a pulse ever. Temple, Uconn, Tulane are some of the worst programs there are. Navy is military program. etc....Frost outscored people in that bullcrap conference and you get to legit footballl and you can't have 5 seconds to throw it all the place.

Be worried

Why wouldn't the Huskers offer Stoops $10M/yr in a couple months, and say "build us UP like you did Kentucky!"

Who else could they chase who has made a more hopeless situation a winner??

no matter what, Nebraska would never give him the automatic extension clauses. That alone keeps Stoops here unless it’s an Alabama, Ohio State type opportunity.

Hopefully.
