I'm in the same boat. Nebraska made two hires in back to back seasons that I thought were going to be slam dunk hires. Frost and a year later, Fred Hoiberg for basketball. Frost was 16-31 and Hoiberg is currently 24-67 at Nebraska.
It was a surprise to me to see it happen so quickly in the season.
There was nothing left to see IMO. If you blow those first two games it’s not getting better. The only surprise may have been they didn’t wait until the next drop off in cost.

Anyone with a halfway decent job would be crazy to leave it for Nebraska. They’ll probably end up with a washed up coordinator or a young G5 coach. If it’s the latter, they may accidentally stumble into a good hire.
Bo Pelini was pretty good too from 08-14. 9-4 or 10-4 all 7 years, 4 of which were in the Big Ten.
