We supposed to be SEC????

But can't fill shrunken stadium when team is looking to go 3-1 overall and 2-1 in conference.

All the folks that complain about schedule every year wanting to add bigger opponents--Mizzou was just added and we haven't beaten them yet...already sick of that new game???

Seriously, pathetic!

I'd love to be there. I was there last Saturday. I have plans this Saturday that make it that I can't make the trip in. Does that make me less of a fan?

(i'll answer for you... no, it doesn't)

This is a silly thread. OP should wait and post this stupidity on Saturday night if the stadium is not full (Spoiler: It will be full).

premature fan blasting, wait till 7:40 pm actual kickoff time before putting the #BBN to the fire

I agree that this thread is really premature. I also agree that the stadium will be packed if the weather isn't crazy bad. On the other hand I also believe that the numbers will start to decline if we lose to Missouri. I'm behind the players and coaches but we're the favorite, we're at home, and Missouri has beaten us every year since they've joined the SEC. We should be more ready to play this game than Missouri. I hope we take care of business.

We lose to Missouri and Basketball season will start that very night....CWS will be a ghost town the rest of 2015..

Plan to be there.. Will once again need all the support from the fans! Another night game = should be another rowdy night.. Wish UK would do a T-shirt giveaway, coded a certain color, or some rally towels or something. Something to mix it up a bit..

How many tickets have you bought?

I agree it is pathetic IF CWS doesn't sell out for the Mizzou game. Can't really claim to be a SEC football program if you can't get up for this game.

I got 5 and I can't wait to be there. I do think if UK loses again with basketball right around the corner it'll make for more empty seats for future games. We need to get this done Saturday.

There were some on here losing their crap because the admin took seats away. It should be full for a big game.

I don't blame fans nowadays and I don't think its just a UK problem. Outside of a team that folks know is a title contender from day one there are a lot of reasons not to attend in person in this day and age. The ease and comfort of home with the right electronic setup trumps the in person experience almost every time. This is coming from someone that loved the game so much that I attended many non UK football games all over the state and surrounding states when I was younger. As you age staying at home will become more attractive for nearly every last one of you, not all mind you but many. I don't think attendance is as big of a factor as many make it out to be and its definitely not a be all end all indicator of the love of the fan base. If there are 40-50k that's a good enough presence for the cameras and I don't think anyone bats an eye (ESPN,media). Don't get me wrong I expect to see some sellouts and big game environments but I'm not worried if they aren't happening yet, they will in due time. At the end of the day the only thing that really matters in college football is $$$ and the paying fan makes up a very small portion of our football income. In other words were set in that department, we just have to make sure the administration continues to put said money back into the product that generated it. Lets take it easy on the fans. We have watched and supported a lot of bad product, forgive us if we want to reap what we have sewn from the comfort of a Lazyboy in front of a 70 inch screen! You young bucks go fill it up, its your turn.

If you are right then UK fans don't deserve to have a winning football program, but I doubt that you are right. Win or lose this week I would bet that the Auburn game is a sell-out.

If it rains like it is supposed to, there will be a lot of empty seats.

Says we don't want to deal with traffic & long concessions lines & took the advice of those who says stop

If it's not full it will be due to those here telling people to stay home because they bitched here about some aspect of the team or facilities & so they took them up on it.

Spot on FD...I went last week and have tickets this week. Can't say I'm excited about going back. As you age its tougher & tougher to go to games when the HDTV is such a better way to see & hear the game. It is time for the younger families to fill the stadium.

A lot of people seem to be just looking for an excuse not to go. :chairshot:

Exactly, these fall into what was termed in another thread as "The Entitled Kentucky Fan" Those who demand to have all elements of the day (and the season for that matter) to their exact specifications and if not they'll just sit home and bitch about it.

I have to think these people were much happier with their football experience 3 years ago, when there were no lines to restrooms or concesssions, little to no traffic and tickets could be procured easily and cheaply.

Because obviously being more competitive and having a demand for all things Kentucky football has made their lives so much harder and more demanding. SMDH.

And for the record, I would certainly rather not get home at 2am, have to wait in lines, deal with crowds and not lose a game all year. But I'll gladly make those sacrifices to be where were at now, and where we could possibly be down the line.

But if losing, cheap tickets and no traffic problems are what you want let me direct you to a little program about 75 miles to the west.

Its all available to you right there.

That actually isn't true. Football ticket sales at UK make up about half of the football revenue and along with the K-Fund money that comes with it we're talking about 1/3rd of UK's total athletics revenue. You must also consider that everyone else in the SEC is getting all of the TV money so the only thing that differentiates athletic department revenues is ticket sales.

I have made other posts about how fans need to show up. I drove 7 hours to Lexington last weekend to watch the UF game. I was very impressed with the stadium. I took the advice of posters on here about concessions and restrooms. As soon as we entered the stadium we went to the concessions and bought our food and drinks. Took less than 5 minutes. Hit the restrooms and then went to our seats. Absolutely flawless experience in that regard. The overall stadium experience was great.

Where I think UK has some problems is the parking. The situation is going to keep those without season tickets and parking passes away and those are the ones who normally fill those upper level sections. I remember being able to park just about anywhere without a pass (except the stadium parking lots). Now, everything requires a parking pass.

Set up our tailgate near the stadium and then had to park 10-15 minutes away. Next time we go to a game I may not tailgate because of the parking hassles. UK needs to take a closer look at it and be more accommodating to that section of the fanbase that either cannot attend every home game or afford the season parking passes outside the stadium lots. I think I heard they were going to build parking garage(s) by the stadium. That would help.

If it wasn't for tailgating, there wouldn't be half the fans attend. Then almost every year, they limit the number of tailgating spots.

If you think UK has a parking problem then you've never been to any other SEC venue.
You can bet any parking garages will only replace parking lost to other facilities. Whenever they build the new baseball stadium it will take most of what is now the purple lot. You simply cannot afford to spend millions for parking that would only be used 7-8 days out of the year. Asking fans to walk 10-15 minutes isn't asking too much. And by the look of many of our fans, it's a walk sorely needed.

Rain coming in for Saturday. There will be plenty of tickets available and empty by Halftime.
So you are not only a pessimist but a weatherman and a seer! I bet you do good at gambling on games! You are well versed on just about all the intangibles! So Kreskin what will the score be Saturday? And will it rain on May 3rd? I have a picnic planned!

Thanks for the labeling. The weather was great for ULL and it was half empty before the half. I was stating the obvious. If I'm wrong about my thoughts I will come back and say I was. You don't worry about the weather since you'll be watching from your couch.

Yeah that Jocker boycott was bogus. UK football fans want any excuse possible to stay home. Next person I see trying to take credit for getting Jocker out of here - for simply being a pathetic fan...

YEP. May have to be a little older to understand this but the last thing a UK football fan has to justify is their support of their program. I've said it before, there is absolutely no fan base in American that has shown more support for their program per victory than the UK football fan. I know, I've been there. Sell out or not, since 1974 they have been showing up in top 30 attendance numbers with maybe two times finishing in the top 30. Name one other fan base who has done that.

The problem today is the newer fan expects instant gratification as it's more about them than it is the program. Make me happy or I'm done. Sad but true.

Wow, talk about exaggeration! The student section did clear out early...the rest of the crowd stayed around.

I have to disagree with your comments in this thread. If the rain does come and it's a deluge then not many fans of any school would sit outside. If it's not a huge weather event (and they're saying at this point that it's hit or miss) I think the crowd will be good. I don't think the fans will leave at halftime unless the score is crazy in either team's favor.

He's taking a chance that the stadium won't be filled.... If it is, then he will be back and if it isn't you won't see him until the next time we lose... If the stadium isn't full, it's not because fans have given up... That guy is a hideaway....

BTW, why post this even if the game isn't a sale out? Why would anyone want to be negative?

Hate to say it, but the team needs to step up to get fans in the stands. The fans brought it to the UF game, the team did not.

If only it were that easy, can't just snap your fingers and win.. to say the team did not bring it would be a little far fetched.. It just did not go our way.
