KU's achievements (sports, as well as academic setting, as a whole), compared to UK's:
KU's women's Outdoor Track team, in fact, won the Nat'l Championship in 2013.
KU's also had a handful of All-Americans in recent, men's throwing events.
If you consider competitive 'Debate' a sport (no!), KU is always one of the top debate programs (NDT appearances and championships).
KU usually places real high in national business-school team competitions.
In recent "US News & World Reports", KU has 17 academic programs ranked in the top-30, whereas UK has eight.
UK's financial endowment amount and campus size are both almost exactly 2/3 the size of KU's (i.e., KU has more land and money), and KU has more graduate students.
A lot of wealthy national and international students (not to mention wealthy Kansas Citians [for reference, Louisville's metro pop. is about 60% the size of KC's metro pop.]) seem to choose KU simply because of its aesthetics (campus [within small, cozy, hilly town] built on large, wooded hill, which includes a lake and many new buildings [my Missouri coworker said new KU campus bldgs. are almost continually being built: example of the school's "spare no expense" mantra], including a LOT of brand-new, expensive dorms)(recreational lake right outside of Lawrence; KC suburbs & amenities begin about 20 minutes east of Lawrence [with some KCK suburbs containing some of the top school districts in the country]), Lawrence apparently has a nice, downtown-shopping district and indi. music scene.
Anyone been there? Is this stuff I researched accurate?
I DO remember that, before last season's KU game, in the 17 preceding UK/KU games, the "total points scored" (by each team) was within only five points (when added-up) ...then came last season's 32-point beatdown.
KU's lost what?...only 3 games in AFH, since 2007?
KU looked great in Korea. If Diallo is eligible, no way we come within 20 points. (No way.) KU has only one less 5-star, two more 4-OR-5-stars, and five upperclassmen 4-or-5-stars compared to just three of ours (and one of THOSE is Mulder [newcomer], so really, we only have two, experienced 4-or-5-stars, and one of those is coming back from a big injury [and the other didn't play all that much, last season]). We only return 21% of our minutes, and Ulis alone is reponsible for 50% of those returning minutes.
KU is loaded.
