Saw this Kansas shirt yesterday claiming 12 championships

Good luck with this rational comment! However, I have found on this board that trying to be rational with the irrational is futile.

A large portion of the posters on Rafters are so myopic that anything other than BB does not register in their minds and therefore doesn't count for anything.

I'll probably get hammered for this post, but facts are facts. A good portion of Rafters posters attack any post that even remotely infringes on their superiority complex.

And, finally, I am not a troll. Have been a UK fan since well before most of the Rafters posters were born.

Probably true but you should try the Kansas boards. If it's superiority complex over here, it's little penis syndrome over there. I'd rather feel superior (we are) than have a couple inches while acting like john Holmes.

But their locker room is great. Familiar, but great. Unlike most decades maybe they can hang a current banner in it sometime soon.

Yes. 1970 is showing Mens Indoor Track and Mens Outdoor Track.

Plus, if you're going to put ALL of your mens championships on a t-shirt to brag, 12 is not much to brag about, especially when you are including FAKE championships. USC has 84 mens team championships when you include all of the crap sports like indoor track and water polo.

Yup. If we put all of out cheerleading, baseball, football, basketball, helms etc. swimming, diving, track, archery, rifle, whatever else, you couldn't put it on a t-shirt.

Kansas is the most overrated powerhouse of any sport, any league, anywhere.

Kansas has what is called Short Man Syndrome. And you know what they say: Short people got no reason to live.

Kansas has some of the greatest T&F athletes in the history of the sport.
(Jim Ryan, Al Orter, and Bill Neider.

Have they had any more recent than over 45 years ago?

I declare and ordane that The University Of Kentucky has been KYBASSFAN National Champion in every year in which they've worn the color Blue in at least one game. This declaration is absolute and irrevocable. Hence forth and forever more the Kentucky Wildcat Basketball team is the sole winner and recipient of the Annual KYBASSFAN National Championship.

Feel free to print your own banner and hang them from whatever fixture you deem appropriate. I've found they look particularly nice on a toilet paper hanger suspended above a Helms championship banner (unused, of course) or nearby Sears catalog.

That's the thing about these bogus national championships. Anyone can invent them and award them.

And you wonder why KU fans don't like UK fans. It's a mystery.

Read this thread!

All of this over a t-shirt??

Who is obsessed with whom?

Our coaches have won the same number of national championships.

We are close to eclipsing you in total wins.

Our coach has had zero games vacated, let alone Final Fours. Your coach has had TWO Final Four teams vacated.

Two!

Your lack of respect for Kansas, which spawned your admitted GREAT, tradition bothers me.

You have a great school and even greater basketball tradition. But some respect for others who have the same would not be amiss.

This is why UK fans don't like KU fans-------Helms Titles
Coaches might have the same wins but not the schools, let's count them all
Eclipse the total then talk about it..........No Helms wins
Can you quote us the times our coach has been punished by the NCAA.

As for as Kansas fans go I like a few.

But you have admire a fan base that named their arena and their basketball boards after a young Jayhawk who played on two National Championship teams - Rupp.

And you wrote this diatribe for the benefit of the other few self possessed Kansas fans posting on a Kentucky board? Just curious because this drivel just makes you look silly to 99.9% of everyone else.

The silliest part is that you actually think some one cares. T-shirts for track and field or bread wrappers are all the same to us.

My hats off to your track and field team, by the way. Certainly worthy of more respect than the basketball team.

Soon as he could he got out.

The Ku fans should be ashamed of the Helms titles, nevermind brag about them. Any KU fan that defends Helm titles are just embarrassing to talk with. You are a blueblood school. It's time for you guys to start acting like one. I know its been awhile and you guys are lacking the titles most bluebloods have on their resume, but its not a reason to try and use made up banters to make yourselves feel better about lacking titles. Keep on working hard and hope you don't run out of time again and someday you guys will win another. Even though Self loses to teams he shouldnt, I still feel hes a really good coach and will put you guys into postion to win another in the next 10 years. Unless we are standing there between you guys and the championship, then maybe you're screwed and better start planning for the next season.

Actually, we have padded our lead in all time wins over Kansas by 7 since Cal arrived for the 2009-2010 season (and by 34 over UNC) and Kansas still has 158 more losses than us (same as when Cal got here). Your early NCAA Tournament flame-outs and lack of head-to-head success against us has hurt you in your pursuit to catch up. Kansas still trails Kentucky by the same number of wins (25) as they did in 1975.

And you're not likely to ever catch up to us in titles given that you trail us by 5 championships and have only won 3 in 117 seasons (77 seasons since the NCAA Tournament was started).

KU's achievements (sports, as well as academic setting, as a whole), compared to UK's:

KU's women's Outdoor Track team, in fact, won the Nat'l Championship in 2013.

KU's also had a handful of All-Americans in recent, men's throwing events.

If you consider competitive 'Debate' a sport (no!), KU is always one of the top debate programs (NDT appearances and championships).

KU usually places real high in national business-school team competitions.

In recent "US News & World Reports", KU has 17 academic programs ranked in the top-30, whereas UK has eight.

UK's financial endowment amount and campus size are both almost exactly 2/3 the size of KU's (i.e., KU has more land and money), and KU has more graduate students.

A lot of wealthy national and international students (not to mention wealthy Kansas Citians [for reference, Louisville's metro pop. is about 60% the size of KC's metro pop.]) seem to choose KU simply because of its aesthetics (campus [within small, cozy, hilly town] built on large, wooded hill, which includes a lake and many new buildings [my Missouri coworker said new KU campus bldgs. are almost continually being built: example of the school's "spare no expense" mantra], including a LOT of brand-new, expensive dorms)(recreational lake right outside of Lawrence; KC suburbs & amenities begin about 20 minutes east of Lawrence [with some KCK suburbs containing some of the top school districts in the country]), Lawrence apparently has a nice, downtown-shopping district and indi. music scene.

Anyone been there? Is this stuff I researched accurate?

I DO remember that, before last season's KU game, in the 17 preceding UK/KU games, the "total points scored" (by each team) was within only five points (when added-up) ...then came last season's 32-point beatdown.

KU's lost what?...only 3 games in AFH, since 2007?

KU looked great in Korea. If Diallo is eligible, no way we come within 20 points. (No way.) KU has only one less 5-star, two more 4-OR-5-stars, and five upperclassmen 4-or-5-stars compared to just three of ours (and one of THOSE is Mulder [newcomer], so really, we only have two, experienced 4-or-5-stars, and one of those is coming back from a big injury [and the other didn't play all that much, last season]). We only return 21% of our minutes, and Ulis alone is reponsible for 50% of those returning minutes.

KU is loaded.

I hate your crappy school. It's subhuman. Even fly infested 3rd world children hate your school too.

KU is loaded like a soft potato. Overcooked and underwhelming.

Lol we'll disagree plenty in precisely three months about a certain basketball game. Better to have an agreement between a UK and Duke fan now than then ;)

How's this for starters:

94% of Duke fans: a tradition that started in 1992 after back-to-back titles and seven Final Fours in nine years.

Learned 2 things from this thread:

1) Kansas is as pathetic as expected, classic Jayhawk move

2) RC_Texas sucks lol
