Vandy has had a hard time closing out games this season. I don't know what they're missing but they're a good team. This is not the Vandy of old where they had one dude that could kill you. They have multiple guys that bring it. Impressive coaching job by Byington. I'd imagine he'll be a hot name in coaching in short order.

My theory/hope is that our roster just isn't where it needs to be yet -- that's pretty clear -- but we're getting good first halves through preparation and maybe surprising folks a bit. Then the other team regroups and adjusts, and we don't have the same number of tools to adjust. At least I hope it's mostly that because it is a bit concerning.

Someone said elsewhere, in a lot of games we're like a 14 seed taking it to a 3, running up a lead and then just hoping to hang on as the talent level surfaces. That's the 2025 SEC.

Agreed about Byington -- he's said effusive things about the AD and Chancellor and VU just opened the Huber Center which seems to be getting great reviews from both hoops coaches. I hope we can keep him because I agree he'll be a hot commodity if he wants to be.
