Sacha Killeya-Jones Plans to Sign Early

Are we really considered the leader for this kid? I have seen a few different posters say this kid will be our first commit. What is that based on? Inside info or just people hoping if they say it enough, it has to come true.
True, but Roy told him the BB team would be ok ..and i know Jones is tight with the players and plays pick up with them..just feels like unc to me...
Terrence Jones did the same at Washington and Archie Goodwin did the same at Arkansas. It doesn't mean a thing.
Wynyard was the 1st, but I agree we will get Killeya-Jones unless Gabriel commits ahead of him. Fox, Monk, Bridges, Killeya-Jones all trending toward Kentucky.
Guy is just oozing potential. Think he needs at least two years to allow his body to physically mature enough to handle the rigors of the NBA, but I think Cal and Payne could make a beast out of him. Hope he doesn't make a huge mistake and go to UNC.
If he plans to sign early, which I think he recently said, he won't go to UNC. He's quoted as saying he wouldn't sign there bf the ncaa rules and that won't be until next spring.
Half of those UNC players will be long gone after this season, so his relationships with UNC are likely not a factor.
Feels like Kentucky to me. UNC has nothing going for it. With Skal certainly adding to the number, UK will have had produced ten top 20 picks from the front court since Calipari has been here. That's significant. SKJ wants to be a millionaire without a stigma or any other drama holding him up. That's all that matters at this point.
Which will be interesting given their presumptive level of depth in '16-17.
PG - Thornton/ Jackson
SG - Allen/ Kennard
SF - Tatum/ Jones
PF - Gabriel/ Giles
C - Giles/ Jeter/ Obi
Not gonna lie - that potential lineup is pretty intimidating.
This post is great illustration of why Gabriel needs to stay the Hell away from Duke. Matt Jones will be a senior/former starter on a championship team, and he is going to get his minutes at 2G/SF. Kennard is an extremely talented MCDAA who will be a sophomore who is going to be scrambling for minutes off the bench at 2G/SF.
Tatum is going to play 36-38 mpg and some of that may be at PF because of Jones/Kennard. Jeter will be a soph former McDAA and wil get minutes at PF/C as well. Giles as well is going to play 38 mpg. There aren't going to be minutes available at the PF/SF positions.
As good as he is, I don't see more than 15 mpg or so available for Gabriel. if he doesn't come to UK, he'd be much better off going to Uconn.
And the lineup above doesn't even factor in the possible addition of Bolden, who Duke is trending for - that will clog up the PF/C position even more.
If K does end up with that lineup, I think it will be a disaster. He's had issues with disgruntled players and transfers with just the few OADs he's had over the last few years. Sulaimon, Gbinije, etc.
Cal masterfully pulled off our unexpectedly overcrowded roster last year while keeping everyone happy and still featuring guys enough to get them drafted as lottery picks. Pretty amazing, and if you think that was easy, you're out of your mind.
Here we go with this BS that everyone and their grandmother is heading to Duke. Not happening people and I don't know how many No 1 classes Cal has to bring in before the Chicken Littles will finally shut up. If you think so highly of Duke, go to their board and extol Coach K's virtues until hell freezes over. Just get your negativity out of here and we won't miss you if you never come back. When Cal brings in another gre4at class, you'll be back on here acting like a loyal UK fan when you are anything but one. You'll be back, but you are an embarrassment to UK and you don't deserve to celebrate a thing when we win our next title(s).
How have you gained that view from this thread? I think UK will land at least three top 10 guys - possibly four - and at least five top 30 guys overall.
I also think it's a reach if Gabriel heads to Duke with the knowledge that Tatum, Giles, Jeter, and Obi will already be there.
Just turned 17 a few days ago and he got MVP in Vegas. Upside is mind boggling at UK.
If Cal thinks this could be one of his best classes ever, that's good enough for me.
Everything I've seen has UK trending for SKJ. Kids would be stupid to sign with UNC right now.
