Ruh Roh, KFC leaving Louisville

Don't care. Not directed at you. KFC hasn't been relevant, IMO, for DECADES. Let those goofs go to Teas.

That's not good for Kentucky though.

Parent company Yum Brands is calling remote workers back to the office.
lol, would explain why the remote tech job I put in for there mysteriously delisted, closed, and no communication sent to applicants.

It does piss me off these companies want people back in office or else, but will then gladly ship a job overseas to be a.....remote job to the US. Sad.

Imagine being a remote worker in say Kentucky and you are now forced to move to Irvine, CA or Plano, TX. That's not a small more AT. ALL.

Been in Louisville since 97. I wonder how much they pay the state in taxes per year? I would wager many of the remote workers will quit instead of relocate which is the idea all along. That way they don't have to pay to fire them.

As far as KFC goes I wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire. Their food sucks just like the rest of Yum Brand crap.

Taco Bell is a dumpster fire. That food has plummeted while trippling prices. I don’t stop anymore. KFC in Shelbyville. I stopped. Asked for a 10 piece meal. She says…. We are out of chicken. I’m like???? What??? Says.. we have pot pies. You gotta be kidding?? Right.

They only have 90 US remote workers. I’m not surprised they are moving. My wife worked for YUM out of college and had to go to Irvine and Plano all the time. Texas has great corporate tax rates. I hope Kentucky takes notice because all we need is Ford and UPS to leave smh.

Yeah but it’s hard to say “We’re leaving Kentucky due to taxes” when you’re keeping a headquarters in California, one of the most taxed states in the Union.

That happened to me right up the street, went to get a meal and got to the window and they said we are out of chicken only have thighs. I was like 1.) how does KFC run out chicken only a normal workday, and 2.) why would I pay $27 for 8 thighs? As far as Taco Bell I feel that. I got 5 taco supremes the other day and it was. $18.88. Like I know it’s 20 years ago but you could legit 5 regular tacos when I was in high school for like $6.

Loved their mashed potatoes. And of course that gravy is made from crack. That gravy can end wars. It’s sooooo good.

The rest is meh. And waaaaaaaaaay over priced
Fast food is so expensive now you may as well get something decent like Outback/Texas Roadhouse/ Olive Garden. I can get 2 meals you could share almost for 4 people for the price of 4 combo meals.

It makes me sad man. TB used to be my hands down FAVORITE fast food place. I love “Mexican” (yeah I know TB isnt Greta representation of Mexican food) and it was always great to stop in and get three soft tacos. I got them with no lettuce when I was a kid and that meat and cheese would just be damn delicious against those cool soft tortillas.

Sadly thats all gone because of corporate greed. I hate KFC is leaving but Yum can pffffft off. They’ve ruined Pizza Hit and TB.

Oh yeah everyone ate TB when I was younger and in high school. It was the place to go for fast food.

bojangles and just about every other similar fast food chain is so much better than KFC now. They’ve gone down hill drastically in the last 15 years or so.

When I was in high school you could get 5 chicken soft tacos for less than $5. It was the .59, .79, .99 cent menu. Some days you could get tacos for .39 cents.

The food was also really good. Not this tasteless crap we have today. I mean it was legit good. The same can be said to a lessor degree for most modern fast food.

Pizza hut was the same way. It was bit more expensive, but it tasted good. I hate pizza hut now. We used to clip coupons from the sale papers. lol

Long Johns had a great fish sandwich. Haven't been in one for two decades at least.

Everything Yum brand touches turns to crap. Hate the company.

Fast food prices are ridiculous. And half the time the order ends up wrong as well. I went through Burger King drive through a couple nights ago and got a crispy chicken sandwich, two chicken wraps, nuggets and two drinks. To me that sounds like about 16-18.00 worth. Nope, 28.50. I looked at the receipt and the drinks are almost 4.00 each. Thats nuts. And you mentioned outback. That has always been one of my absolute favorite restaurants. I went to one in Louisville this weekend and it was one of the worst meals I have ever had in ANY restaurant. The bloomin' onion was burnt, and my Victoria's fillet looked like a piece of breakfast sausage. Horrible.

It's just management types want to control others. They'd work remote in a heartbeat if they could. Where I work, it seems every other worker is a manager.

People need to be back in the office. Sorry if that rubs some people wrong, but look how we quickly people forgot how to act in society. People need to wake up, shower & shave, breathe some fresh air, go to work, chit chat with coworkers, have face to faces about people's kids and ball games. I had to take a customer service hob coming out of quarantine, and I can promise you that society was effected negatively. People were all screwed up. Just nasty. Sorry, but I'll die on this hill, society needs people to be active participants in it.

I understand that view, but honestly my wife works from home and can do her job easily here. She probably gets more work done at home than in the office. Her day used to consist of about 6 meetings a day. Now she has about 2 and the rest she can actually work. Remote work has really become viable and saves companies money from less buildings while getting the same work done.

Look, to each their own, but we're slowly becoming a bad sci-fi movie parody. People are forgetting how to look someone in eyes, give a hand shake, and say "thank you". We're losing the little things that make society human. It doesn't take a rocket surgeon to tell you it isn't a good recipe for humanity. No, we'd rather stay on our couch and pay $35 two have two Taco Bell burritos delivered.

Lots of assumptions and generalizations in there. IT people have been working remotely for several years. And a lot of those folks have no problem with manners.

Up those issues aren’t caused b6 working remote. They’re caused by crappy parenting.

I actually totally agree with you on those points.

TB has raised prices drastically and cut the amount of food they give you. My family has quit going. All 7 of us. It might be the worst value for the money of all fast food restaurants.

That’s fine if the current job she has is as far as she wants to go . Remote workers should never expect a promotion. I always advise young people to go to the office and get to know the bosses . That’s how you get noticed and promoted .

That’s crazy, she just got promoted. One more tier and she will be the manager of her division.
