Rooting for another conference to win championship.

Having the SEC officially noticed as the best college football conference helps UK recruiting. Recruits know they will play the best competition game after game.

I have some in-laws who are Ohio State fans and they have admitted the SEC rules. 20 years ago they would never admit that. So if the SEC gets two teams in the final game, why not celebrate it if you are an SEC team. You are with the best and being with the best means you have to work hard to compete. UK is doing that and it brings better football to Lexington

So when Bama or Georgia win the title, do we make a ring of honor or banner at Kroger Field for it? The SEC won a championship after all. Not those individual schools.

I have an idea, you cheer for who you want to and let others cheer for who they want to. Does that sound reasonable to you?
Sure. But when I get a promotion at work and increase in pay, make sure to brag to your family as if it’s your own and your credit.

Not even sure why we have individual teams anymore. Just have a conference squad. Don’t give individual rings to the Bama players and Saban. Give one to the entire SEC.

I don't work with you, but yes when one of my coworkers gets promoted and successful, I am happy for them. You hate your coworkers and go home and boo them? You do you, and I will do me

The fact is when the SEC does well Kentucky and other SEC schools put more money in the bank. The more money for UK the more that can be put into the program. UK does not get anything when Ohio State or Clemson are in the championship game. We get a lot when Bama and Georgia are both in it.

That is a benefit of being in a conference and when you are in the best it pays

Fix it by going to a 24 teams SEC & to heck with the rest. Just play own championship. Other places just don't care as much. As I said above, already a regional attraction. NE & Pac Coast people too busy getting into other peoples' business with their SJW topic of the day to care & FB too brutish for those pansies. Off the top, add MI/OSU/PSU/Klempsin/NC/NCst/VT/FSU. Done.
Why not 64? No need to stop with 24

The fix is only allowing 1 team from a conference in the Playoffs. No one likes to keep seeing a rematch of the SEC championship imo
What. That used to be the way it was in basketball and the NCAA decided that was not working. I like to see the best teams playing for the championship and that is what we have this year. Sorry if your team is not good enough to still be playing.

Reduce the max number of schollies to 20 per year.

Force the talent pool to disperse.

All that will do is cost 800 kids FBS scholarships. It won't be the schools that annually sign top 5 classes limited to 20 but every school limited to 20. Same teams will same the best players. I want g or early signing day but I have to admit it has grown on me. It was suppose to stop the poaching and flipping of commits, not really enough to measure, officials moved to the summer and commits still flip.

I want Georgia and LSU to win when they aren't playing Kentucky. I have an uncle that went to LSU and he is awesome, and my sister in law went to Georgia and she is awesome.

Other than that, don't care, just want to see a good game

I think there is something significant about winning a P5 conference championship, but I understand the argument that you want the best team in there as well.

What I would be in favor of is a 6 team format. Each conference champion gets an automatic birth but IF and only if, they have one or less loss. Then the committee would fill out the remaining spot(s) with at large picks which can be any team from any conference. The top 2 seeds get a bye, the bottom four play each other, the winners move up and play the top seeds, the winners of those games play for the Natty.

That would seem to be a good way of accommodating the two competing goals of having the best teams included, but also giving each region of the country a fair chance to participate, so that football doesn't just become a regional sport.

It will when they can't field a team.

The better players will go elsewhere, instead of not playing on scholarship.

You want to be a walk-on at Bama or play on scholarship at TCU? Especially if you're not likely NFL material... those guys aren't banking on guaranteed paychecks after school

So socialism? I keep reading this philosophy on this board recently and can't help but chuckle at the irony, given the political leanings of most who post here. As I have no idea which way you lean, this is not a comment directed specifically at you Drafcat, just something I've noticed here recently.

The only constant in college basketball/football I really care about is Kentucky. I can't get my rocks off rooting for the SEC every year. I just want to see different teams play don't really care how it happens honestly.

Just like it did when it dropped from 40 to 25? That showed the top schools, they signed the 25 they really wanted. You planning on cutting the number on ship back to 65 too, no need to be 85 if you can only 20 kids. Once again all it is accomplishing is costing roughly 800 kids a scholarship per year. The top 5 class will be signed by Bama, A&M, OSU, UGA and likely LSU or UF. Rule changes aren't going to cause Saban, Day, Kelly, Fisher or Smart to forget how to recruit, just like the early signing day didnt.

Nope , they EARN it . You want it given to someone that hasn’t because, I guess you feel sorry for them ? LOL
Yeah, I think you completely missed what I was saying. I'm for an individual accomplishment and recognizing that individual and not pretending it somehow is a conference-wide achievement as it's not. You confusing me with someone else?

Probably, lol . In the post you quoted I was responding to the guy that thinks only one team from each conference should be allowed in the playoffs. Technically, the SEC splitting the money with all teams is pretty much the definition of Socialism.

You guys are funny... if they expand the playoffs I have no issue if its SEC vs. SEC in a rematch of the National Championship.

I just have an issue with it when we are only allowing 4 teams in. Just so happens it's the same teams every year with little room for an upset to occur.
