Bama glory for the SEC is fine.
But I don't want this sport to become a regional fad.
It can't just be teams from this corner of the country winning it all.
Kind of need USC or Oregon or Michigan to break the steak.
Not rooting for them to become a long term power (well maybe usc).
But this sport is more fun when it's a national game.

SEC and Big 10 dominate the TV ratings, they are really the only 2 conferences that matter at this point. Other conferences have an occasional good team that can stir some interest but overall are well below the big 2.

Even with that college football is easily the second most popular sport in the country and that isnt changing anytime soon.

totally disagree

we have gotten a ton of recruits because the SEC is so dominant
many of them have said one of the reasons they picked UK was so they could play in the SEC

this sport is fun when the best teams play each other
if other teams want to play for a title then they need to get better

It would be more interesting to see other programs get into the mix. I don't think expanding the playoffs is the answer, though. If you'd had 12 this year, at least 3 SEC teams and 2 or 3 B10 teams would've been included. Once the B12, ACC and Pac12 teams were trounced, it still would've been SEC elite vs either another SEC team or a B10 team.

You can't stop Alabama and Georgia from getting the top recruits every year, so not sure what the fix is. Honestly, the biggest threats to those two the next several years have to include LSU, A&M, Florida and, most likely, Clemson and Ohio State. Basically, the same few schools that have dominated over the past 10 years.

Does Michigan move into that group? Can Riley return the Trojans to elite status? Does OU shine once they play an SEC schedule? Really tough questions that will play out over the next few years.

The fix is only allowing 1 team from a conference in the Playoffs. No one likes to keep seeing a rematch of the SEC championship imo

That’s not a fix that’s a penalty on the SEC. Look Alabama and UGA are by faaaarrrr the best teams in the country. When the SEC has like 13 teams in the top 25 in recruiting what do you expect. And next Texas and OU will be SEC members. You can’t exclude any team from any conference if they are the best. You want a playoff with bama ND Michigan cinn?? No one wants to see that.

how do you fix it? Well it doesn’t need to be. OSU has had a run recently, OU, Clemson, even Oregon and florida st with stoops. As long as saban is at Alabama that raises the level of the conference all the way around.

You’re going to be disappointed for quite a while then .

Then get rid of conference championships
It's very possible that this year's eventual National Champion will not have won their Conference Championship game. That says more about the power and quality of the SEC than it does anything.
You want "diversity" in the CFP? Fine. Programs/other conferences need to step up and get better. Don't artificially weaken the field by instituting quotas.

Go SEC.

Miami will start pulling elite classes and challenge for the ACC. Can't overlook CU losing the staff members they have this off cycle including arguably the best DC in the country. Christobol will get the players, who he gets to help coach them will determine how well they do.

But truth is the best players in the country are in the south, its not so much the skill guys but the DL that separates the SEC from other conferences.

I think USC will be able to break through once you give Riley a couple of classes and raids on the portal. Also think Vennables and OU can do some work before they join the SEC>

We're ~5 years away from an unrecognizable cfb landscape. It's about to look like the NFL, with the sec and "the alliance" as stand-ins for the afc and nfc. You'll have a 12 team playoff but one side of the bracket from the sec and one side from the alliance. I'm pulling stuff out of my backside, but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see this play out.

They’d better spread the 3 or 4 SEC teams throughout the brackets, or a 12 team PO would be a lopsided farce.
I think it will end up being the top 6 sec teams and the top 6 alliance teams. I think it will wind looking nearly identical to the NFL. I don't even think the NCAA will be involved in 5 years.

I'm not saying whether that's good or bad for the sport, I just think that's where we're headed.

This is like rooting for gingers 🍺

For me, I want the best game possible. I can't imagine not having the Thrilla in Manila because it was the third Ali/Frazier fight. However I do understand the ones wanting variety

Every game, especially those late in the season, are part of the playoff. Good football is played in conference championships. Why get rid of good football? I want the 2 best teams to play for the NC. I am confident we have that this year. I just don’t understand the complaints.

Doing what UGA and Bama have done is hard. The best succeed. That is good. If other teams succeed, good on them. And, no doubt, it is easier for Bama and UGA than it is for Iowa, UK, Utah, etc., but that is life. Please, no attempts to socialize the sport to “level the playing field.” The process is fair.

I see a guy like Mark Stoops go to work in a low rent district and decide he wants to renovate and build something that will compete. He wants to change the environment and start something new. It’s hard. Very hard. But, can be done. That is the playing field. Enjoy.

Ohio State and Texas A&M will be in the hunt. OSU just keeps putting guys into the NFL but just a step below Bama on ability to reload and each year some other team is loaded for a season. Almost a rotating cycle of SEC teams LSU, Georgia and Florida. Clemson is not done but their recruiting base not as strong as Ohio State and they dont have the Bama tradition.

With the addition of Oklahoma and Texas the SEC will move even further away from the B10 and the other conferences and become our own league. Maybe the NIL will change some of this.

Fix it by going to a 24 teams SEC & to heck with the rest. Just play own championship. Other places just don't care as much. As I said above, already a regional attraction. NE & Pac Coast people too busy getting into other peoples' business with their SJW topic of the day to care & FB too brutish for those pansies. Off the top, add MI/OSU/PSU/Klempsin/NC/NCst/VT/FSU. Done.

I don't have any idea what it will look like. NCAA basically is a name with no power so I can see it disappearing. But I never thought I would see free transfers, kids getting paid either. At what point does it go from college teams to pro teams? Will grades still be necessary to be eligible? Just look at what the portal did this year, UGA got a starting CB, Bama got a season making WR, UK got a starting QB,WR, LT. All improved their respective teams, but it's a big change

Ridiculous take. So Georgia wouldnt have been eligible this year so someone like Notre Lame can get in . Should your rule apply to basketball also ? To have a system where the 2 best teams may not be allowed to play for the championship is unamerican.
