Come on, BBN. I know it is a long-shot, but if three or four of the right Bid Stealers work their magic this week, there is still a chance to guarantee UNC-Cheats misses the dance, and possibly pop the bubbles of IUse2Be and possibly Arkansas (that is unlikely, I'll admit. But Calipari has alienated so many people in the sport, and made so many enemies who'd love to shaft him that if enough bids are stolen, they could justify screwing him over...)

So, it's a long week of small conference tourneys. Let's get behind the Bid Stealers like never before...

Looked into this. Unfortunately this is a bad year for bid stealers, there aren’t a lot of mid majors that can receive an at large bid. There might have been an argument for a Drake, but they beat Bradley to receive the automatic. You hope Arkansas gets completely steamrolled by Scar. As far as UNC, they almost certainly need to get an automatic to get in based on the way the ACC tournament bracket stands. There just aren’t any quality opponents until you get to the end of it. As for IU, they are probably in according to what I’ve seen.

I suspect Arkansas is in no matter what and UNC won't be. OTOH, bid stealers are more likely to hurt teams like Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Texas, and I'd like all three of those to get in based on us either beating them or losing to them as a potential tournament team. So I will definitely NOT be rooting for bid stealers this time.

I dunno...Utah State, Mountain West, VCU, Atlantic 10, Memphis, American, St. Mary's, WCC, a few more are ahead of UNC, Indiana and, or Arkansas in Net rankings, and COULD get an at large bid over them if they don't win their tournaments...Then there is the category of Big Five conference team outside the at-large bubble winning a conference tourney and stealing the automatic bid without displacing at-large candidates...It may only take 3 or 4 of these to freeze out the Hoosiers...Yes, Arkansas is going to be hard to displace...

UNC has to win the ACC tourney to make it so I think we’re good with them

On the plus side it would be funny to see UNC miss the tournament again.

On the minus side it would give them a head start to focus 100% on the portal. They put together a whole team to help overcome Coach Radio's play calling ability.

They'll have Arkansas in the field as a potential 11 seed play in game against the 6 seed opposite us as a 3 seed in our region. Count on that. I'm on the record as hoping the Hogs get that setup. Bid stealer or not.

But remember they don't create brackets considering the potential storylines.....

But if the bid stealers mean maybe Indiana or UNC** don't get in, all the more power to them. I'm totally in favor of that. But then again, we got a Bubba leading the selection committee. So don't get your hopes up.

Runt, my hopes are up. I genuinely do not think UNCheat is getting in. My celebration has started early

Runt man unc is not making it unless they win the ACC tourney. 1-11 In quad 1 games isn’t good enough

I never said it was dead. I just said football requires more based on economy of scale.
So if Mitch moves forward with giving a greater revenue share to basketball than everyone else in the SEC, you aren’t going to complain? You were really going hard over that topic before. I think many fans want both to be successful, but prioritize basketball as it is our flagship sport. I’m in that group.

He will complain, perhaps commit Hari Kari.

Oh I have no issue being tops in the conference for basketball allocation of funds. We are one of few programs with two major profit centers for sports. I think being successful in both is possible, but economically prioritize football as it is the main revenue generator, and we've proven in recent years we can win (given our coaching staff doesn't screw us).
