Kids have to consider all angles before choosing their school. Coach, teammates, fan support, likelihood of getting into the league, and life after the league. Duke preaches that they take care of you simply because you went there. Kentucky has the same thing. If a former player was down on his luck and needed a job he would be taken care of.
Kids also have to consider the type of role-model their getting in a coach. Cal is that parent that sets a great example. Raises a million for Harvey victims, supports the kid all the way through their college process. That's got to be huge for a recruits parents to see.
UL sets a terrible example. They are that parent that sits around playing video games all day and smoking weed. You feel sorry for recruits that think they might be interested. Pitino is that parent setting a terrible example. How could any kid be interested ever again? How could their parents let them be?
Have no idea what Duke is hitting on right now.
