Roman Harper of SEC Network calls UK “soft” says Gators will win handily

50 yds rushing, 4 sacks against a MAC team

If they weren't embarrassed and pride hurt after that then why would these comments motivate. The experts are giving Florida all the credit for coming out on top over a Utah team with a reputation of strong sturdy physical line of scrimmage play.

Let's see if the Big Blue Wall can redeem themselves Sat night, if so we win

You seem to be a fairly knowledgeable football guy. Then you obviously know football is a game of emotion. UK could have very likely overlooked Miami of Ohio with a trip to the Swamp v the Gators the following week. These guys are human. UK will be ready for Florida.

People will get mad at his comments and down play Florida's win and down play our struggles, but in reality Harper was right. If you are not a UK fan or a Florida fan right now and you are objectively judging/predicting after week 1- then his comments were spot on. I hope we can make him eat his words though :)

I hope eventually our culture can let go of the obsession with drawing motivation from tv or internet opinions. I know our staff uses it to motivate the players and that’s fine because they’re young. But you can find literally any opinion on the internet or tv. This idea that that is what will put us over the top in a game is so corny

“Use me as ammo. I’m the ammo guy. If you need it, I’m feeding you right now, Kentucky Wildcats,” Harper said. “But if you want to win this game, you gotta stop Florida up front. Kentucky looked a little bit softer, I hate using the word softer, but they were not as physical up front running the football. You can’t run for 50 yards.”

He didn't call UK "soft". He also isn't wrong about our running game against Miami (OH).

This is pretty much the perfect fuel Stoops & Marrow love to use...not only saying UK will lose, but lose because they ain't tough enough? Not physical as opponent?

Yesh, that Roman vid is gonna be on a loop, on every device in Craft Ctr 24/7 till they get on the plane.

He’s 100% right based on ONE game. I hope we see a different running game, O line, and our secondary was ripe for the picking. If I was Miami I would’ve thrown it every down.

Happy for the bulletin board material but he’s not wrong in his assessment.
They gotta get some mean in em up front. Cut a whole in them pants and let the nuts dangle out while you’re in your stance.

we looked like wet charmin Saturday

After the 1 and only game we played so far he has the right to say that as UK was differently not the same a past UK teams on the line.
But take we have some key players out.
rebuilding due to some key line players left for the NFL. And having to start a couple young players in those spots.
Having to move players in new positions they did not play last year.

Its fair for him to say that..... BUT.... I really think UK will bounce back in a big way sooner rather than later.
Lets just hope that sooner is this weekend.

Just listening to what some of the coaches have said, I have a feeling we're gonna see a lot different team in the Swamp than we saw week 1, and a much different scheme than we saw Week 1.

Stoops will be on Finebaum later this afternoon. I think in the last hour. Finebaum already mentioned Harper's comments in the opening segment, so I'm sure Stoops will be asked about it.

Utah ran for 230. Did he criticize Florida’s D-line? If C-Rod were playing UK would shove it up their arse.

Disagree that the "soft" comment was right. Several SEC teams we have played over the last several years have commented about the physicality of our team. In fact, CMS has made physicality a corner stone of the program and the culture. We weren't "soft" in the Miami game. We had players, mostly a couple of offensive lineman, that missed assignments or were not agile enough to deal with stunts being run by the DL. UK players bring the thump on both sides of the ball and I truly hope FL thinks we are "soft".

CMS will agree with him. If you listened to post game show, CMS called his own team out for playing too soft and not being aggressive enough.

CMS was pi$$ed at the Oline play and rightfully so. Also, WL played with ZERO emotion. Can't have your team leader and captain playing the game with no enthusiasm.

I get the "pro approach " to the game for WL this year. But, he has to be who he is or he has a tendency to get in his own head when he makes one bad play.

I hope we see a different level of energy from the veterans Saturday night or we will get our tails whipped in the Swamp.

And it starts with being physical on both lines of scrimmage. We were anything but physical against MO Saturday night. Roman Harper and CMS were in agreement on that issue.

Thanks for posting the entire quote. Obviously just more social media bs. We are definitely softer on the OL than last year.

I am spoiled having a couple of OL the last several years that could just drive and bury defenders down the field. Do we have any of that this year?

The Big Dawg won't let that slide.... Hope Florida gets a good dose of Walker. There going to see him for three years. Soft. Are defense is gonna eat Richardson for dinner. Gator Tail n lemon. Maybe some zesy ranch. Not sure how you like your Gator Friggers.
If we they can keep Richardson in the pocket and not let him run around then they have a really good chance

I live in Nashville and occasionally tune into local radio (mostly a bunch of UT homers). Before Harpur's comments came out, the 3HL show gave UK - or as they say, Kensucky - the "soft-fensive line" award for week 1. They thought Marrow's comments were directed at them. They're pretty trashy, but they're UT fans after all.

The o-line obviously has work to do. I like seeing all this trash talk. This is a good spot for Stoops and the team IMO.

We have serious o line problems coupled with just average running backs (- Rod) . We need to open play book . Levi's MUST play better, was just average last week, especially in red zone We will need to win a shootout if we are to win at all

Short quick passes will work, get rid of the play actions passes, or limit them and with the running game I don’t know how they improve that

Does anyone else like the Will Levis ,Tim Tebow comparison? I only see it when he runs sometimes. He is a big guy. I hope he destroys Florida. If he wants to be a legend in Lexington then Saturday has to happen. Go Big Blue..... I'm Starting to get that feeling in my stomach. You know the one that says something big is about to happen. Can't freaking wait........

If Tebow had Levis quick release, ball speed, & accuracy he'd still be playing in the NFL

Tebow was a fullback under center. Levis is a top level quarterback.

303 yds passing with 3 TDs and 1 int is avg?
Sorry Sir but you are incorrect.
Plus, I guarantee you those numbers were running a vanilla offense.

Cash Daniels on an SEC talk show this morning was making the same points. I think Cash was trying to build a fire under the O line or trying to lull the Florida D line into a false sense of security. Maybe some of both.
