Robinson and Butler....

Why would you need to get a third opinion on a sprained wrist. That makes me think he hurt it worse
My son got hurt diving for ground balls in an indoor facility (basically concrete because his asst coach was just not bright). Was classified as a sprain but it was a TFCC injury. He said it was extremely painful to the point he couldn’t grip a bat. Took 4 or 5 weeks to get cleared to start practice and then a couple more weeks after that to play so he redshirted as the baseball season is so compressed. He said he would hold his wrist like JR was because of the pain.

I so hope Robinson’s isn’t a TFCC injury.

Same here and hope he's well soon. His shot still looked pure the other night. It didn't appear to affect his shot, to me...fwiw.

Robinson makes sense. Butler is probably a game time decision each game, but likely best to sit for a little while and get ready for March.
Why does it make sense that Robinson is out for an extended period? I probably missed something about the extent of Robinson's injury. I was assuming it was just a sprained wrist.

Sit them both until postseason. We could lose out and still make the NCAA tourney.

We will probably still win a couple (Vandy, LSU most likely) without them. We could probably win our Thursday night SEC tourney game without them as well, depending on the opponent.

No reason to risk making their injuries worse this late in the game for seeding purposes.
With Butler and Robinson out, not to mention Kriisa and Carr still working his way back, I wouldn't "expect" UK to win any of the remaining SEC games. All the SEC teams have top tier athletes and talent and can play. But like you, I just think the remaining guys will just pull together and find a way to win a couple.

Have no idea what happened in the SCAR game, but here is the bottom line...Robinson went to the bench holding his wrist in clear pain later in the second half.

UK builds a 20 pt lead, the game is clearly out of reach. And what does Pope do? He brings Robinson back into the game.

We can throw all the flowers we would like to at Pope, and deservedly so. But that move borderlines on insanity and is a fireable offense.

Before everyone goes nuts, I am not saying Pope should be. But I am saying if Barnhart came out after the game and said Pope was gone because of that decision, I would 100% understand.
dumbass-stupid.gif

Firable offense? Lol. This is either ragebait or one of the worst takes I’ve ever heard lol
Nope. It is 100% a fireable offense to bring a clearly injured (not hurt) player off the bench, fully knowing they are injured, with a 20 point lead late in the second half against freaking SCAR.

A move of absolute stupidity on Pope's part. Needs to be held accountable for it. But of course no one in the Lexington media would dare ask him why he was brought back in the game.

Get a press pass, a pitchfork and a torch and go lead a bunch of angry villagers to the podium then. Let Mark Pope know he needs to be fired. Lol.

Except I didn't say any of that.

Way to deflect.

Pope's feet should be held to the fire for a move that idiotic and downright insane. Apparently it doesn't bother you in the slightest that Robinson is out for a long period of time, for an injury that Pope already knew existed (as Jaxson was a gametime decision), and Pope after seeing Robinson leave the game in visible pain and holding his wrist, puts him back in the game when UK is up by 20 pts late in the second half.

Your right, what an awful take on my part.

I wasn't aware Robinson was a puppet who Pope controlled and had no individual agency. Maybe, just maybe, Pope talked to Robinson and Robinson thought he was okay to play? Or is that completely out of the question because you were there on the bench and know exactly what happened?

Dude, your scenario would be even worse, if that actually happened...are you serious with that?

Pope is the freakin' head coach. Your team is up by 20 against a winless SEC team, with only a few min to go.

So in your fantasy world, Pope goes over to Robinson and says "Hey, I know you were a gametime decision and just left the game in serious pain, but even though we are up by 20 with a few min left, you wanna give it another run so you can maybe injure yourself even more? I know I am the head coach and should be looking out for your best interests and team's best interests long term, but I will let you decide Jaxson."

This is seriously what you are rolling with for a head coach that makes millions upon millions of dollars?

Unbelievable.

Who said anything about him getting fired (why don't you and everybody else re-read my original post)?

My goodness, I said it was a fireable offense...do ppl on this board not have jobs in the real world to understand the difference between a fireable offense and actually getting fired?

You can commit a slew of fireable offenses, doesn't mean you will be fired.

A coach has a losing season. That could be a fireable offense. Doesn't mean he will be fired. A coach gets ejected for fighting. That could be a fireable offense. Doesn't mean he will be fired. A coach plays a clearly injured player while up by 20 pts at the end of the game against a winless team. That could be a fireable offense. Doesn't mean he will be fired. My goodness.

And yes, I desire the attention of anonymous posters on freaking Rupp Rafters. You got me, dog.

I'm not really "rolling" with any story, just pointing out that unless you're the team trainer or were sitting on the bench Saturday you're 100% talking out your ass and just looking for a reason to get upset.

You are darn right I am upset about it.

Pope is an absolute idiot for putting an injured player back on the court in a 20 point blowout against a winless team with a few min to go in the game.

Now this player is out for a few weeks.

Yes, as a UK fan, I am upset about it.

You are as much a UK fan as Tyler Hansbrough judging by your unhinged take
