Today marks the 51st anniversary of Roberto Clemente’s untimely passing. In addition to being a great baseball player, he was also a great humanitarian.

He died well before I was born, but I've immersed myself in all things Clemente for years now. My eight year old, baseball-loving son also got the bug and half his bedroom is decorated with Clemente photos, cards, posters, etc.

If anyone is unfamiliar with his story, do yourself a favor and spend some time reading up on him.
