Still remember going out to my car while at work at Burger Chef in Lexington to hear the Immaculate Reception that turned the proverbial corner for the Steelers. A moment in sports history!

I met one of the officials on the field that day. It was 30 years ago but he had played in the NFL and later officiated his name was Adrian Burk . He spoke highly of Franco and Frenchy. He lived just outside of Boston MA and ran a church camp. Had all kinds of pictures of the play in his trophy room. He thought very highly of Franco and made that clear. Of course Frenchy had a local connection so it was a great conversation to be a part of. Learned a lot that day. RIP Franco.
I just heard him on the radio with Christopher Russo talking about the weekend coming up, crazy.
Lambert was always my favorite on the Steel Curtain, but alas I was born in '79 so I missed the glory years and grew up with Bubby Brister.
Franco was such a special player and embodied what it meant to be a tough-as-nails RB back in the day. RIP big fella!
I was home sitting on my couch as an 8 year old kid. I was rooting for the Steelers because they were just emerging and still an underdog. As a Cowboys fan, I hadn't grown to hate them at that point. One of the craziest plays with high stakes that I've ever seen. Franco was a great player and fit the Steelers' mystique perfectly, no flash, just hard working blue collar guy/team.
