Its a former UK athlete on a very popular pod cast... this is a UK sports board... Seems appropriate to me. I may not express any comments or voice my thoughts on it but I see nothing wrong with it here at all. If you don't think its an appropriate thread no one is making you click on the link and read it... yet you have already posted two or three times in this thread in the HOB forum.

I get that it is also political in nature but there is a definite connection to a UK sports figure as the grounding reason for it being here.

If you let politics start to creep into the HOB it's a slippery slope. Some people pay specifically to NOT have to deal with that kinda stuff....and there *is* a specific place for it.

It's nice to just skip threads you don't want to read but alot of the time you don't what's inside just based on the title.

The 1st 20 minutes of the podcast, i.e. her story, had absolutely nothing to do with politics. It's real life shit that happened to her in college athletics. The full podcast does get political, I will not debate that. I think the focus should be on her story, and nothing else.

This is correct.

There was a lot about her UK accomplishments and UK in the pod. And the dynamics of how UK dealt with things. Her tying Thomas, having the NCAA decide who got the trophy at the ceremony etc.

After that - other political commentary/current events discussion within the pod don't need to be discussed here.

For those who might not know, Marc Maggard was also known as MeManBoy, (@MeManBoy on Twitter) and has a checkered past here as someone who has made a lot of enemies on the board through his creation and deletion of a premium website that he charged "Lifetime Memberships" for and then took those people's money.

Matt Jones is a well-known radio host (@kysportsradio on Twitter) who has a mixed relationship with this board, often being accused of taking information from the board during the early part of his career by individuals.

IMO, this is a Buffet topic, there something for everyone. You can definitely make it political if that's how your brain works, it definitely has a heavy sports element, and last but not least, It definitely has a UK element. I don't see anything wrong with it. Now if the whole board was full of these topics, my opinion would likely change.
