Rigged Finebaum show busted by UK fan

I'm not. I think he's one of the best guests. I listened to Clay Travis when he was on the Zone in Nashville. Does that make me a Tennessee fan, too?
No but how many other Kentucky guests have you heard talk on Finebaums show. Have you heard Freddie or Tom or Piecoro speak? Compared to them you and Jones sound like Kentucky basketball fans. Btw I'm am both a basketball and football fan.oh and BTW it is indicative of what I'm saying about Finebaum that a bama fan and Finebaum don't know who would be a knowledgeable interview regarding Kentucky football.

I'm not. I'm a Bama grad and I root for them in all sports. Football is my favorite sport, but I also enjoy college basketball. Finebaum isn't the greatest when it comes to talking hoops, so whenever he has someone good on, I'll listen. When he came on a few times during the 2013-2014 basketball season, I thought he was fantastic. Easily one of the best guests that Finebaum has ever had on. Clay Travis appears on JOX 94.5 in Birmingham every single week and I started listening to his show every now and then. Unlike most Bama fans, I think he's hilarious.

You can enjoy certain guests and listen to their show a few times without being a fan of their respective teams.

Travis is hilarious. He trolls Bama football and UK basketball fans because we have so many idiots in both fanases that fall for it. He is smarter than all of the people that call in to debate him from these fanbases and it makes for great television/radio. Travis has envy of both UK b-ball and Alabama football as UT aspires to be both in both sports, but never will be. That is a secondary reason for his trolling though.

Jones is fine on the show, and can give enough insight for the people listening. No offense to Levi, but people that listen to Finebaum are not exactly looking for deep in depth coverage to UK football or UK basketball or any team. That show is very much a general/broad overview show, and most of the time does not get into anything close to X's and O's. And sadly other than MJ, no one else that covers UK football (and probably does it better/more knowlegable on the sport) has any clout to matter enough to be on the Finebaum show.

I'll also address another point earlier in the thread that said Finebaum hates on UGA. He seems to always defend Richt when UGA fans call in bitching and wanting him gone...be careful what you wish for and the like. Now he does point out that UGA always seems to choke in big games, or lose one they should not...but that is something anyone who knows football agrees on so not sure that is negative or bashing. That is just telling it how it is. Richt is a good coach, at a good school. UGA won the title in 1980, but that was 35 years ago and counting. It all depends on what you expect UGA to be if you think he should be gone soon or not. UGA is not Alabama, and never will be...but maybe UGA fans do want to be more like Auburn (2 title game appearances and 1 title in last 5 years). I digress.

Point remains when it comes to Kentucky football, Finebaum and Jones conversation is like the glitter attention seeking women sprinkle on themselves, sparkles but little substance. I do think Finebaum has much more serious and on point info about Alabama than he does a large portion of other SEC schools. Anyway that is one reason I don't watch the SEC network all that much. I put it in the same category as most daytime television.

I'm not a finebaum fan in the least but I find it hard to believe someone would be denied to be placed in the hold que just becasue he said he was a Kentucky fan.

I can't agree. UGA may not deserved unwarranted accolades but they sure as heck deserve respect for a consistent high level with high level integrity. I value that even when it is an opponent that kicks our but on a regular basis.

I don't think he is disrespecting the way we run our program, which I, of course, think is pretty clean. Sure we have kids who make dumb decisions and do stupid crap, but so does everyone else. I think he just talks about how we are suppose to be a challenger for the East or maybe the SEC and we will have 1 or 2 of those WTH games a year, just like last year. No way we should have lost to USC or UF, yet lost to both. So I think most of his disrespecting to UGA and Richt is about how the team seemly underperforms every year, not to Richt personally. Lots of UGA fans would like to see Richt step down because of that very thing.

I don't know if you could say that. Kentucky has been shown on the SEC Network MUCH more than the other schools in the conference

Well I am just the sort of person that does not determined respect by a W-L record. There are far more important things in life than that and a good coach will teach that lesson to his players like Richt. I think of it like this, the Connley (sp) fellow that played for UGA gets a heckuva lot more respect from me than the Winston punk from FSU. That's just my outlook and when people like Finebaum forget about what actually matters in life and stops respecting that, I lose interest in their opinion.

It was based in Alabama. That's probably what he was talking about.

Oh I agree. If he does not watch/listen much I guess he could just assume that is where it still is located.

And this happened again today guys...guy wanted to talk Ole Miss and ALABAMA...let me stress that again, Ole Miss and ALABAMA...and was hung up on. They wanted everyone to talk about Ohio State and some rant on that...but the guy then called back and lied and said he wanted to talk about OSU. He called Paul out on the air as well, pretty funny. [laughing]

A UK caller just got on the Paul Finebaum show by pretending to be a Bama fan from Tuscaloosa. The first thing the caller said to Finebaum was that he called earlier and said he was a UK fan from Kentucky and they wouldn't put him on the show. He then said he called right back saying he was an Alabama fan and they put him right on.

This visibly upset Finebaum as he knew the rigged show was now outed. He quickly cut off the caller and made some disparaging remark about the cats.

I have suspected this for some time as the BBN has perhaps the strongest call-in fan base in the country (esp. for basketball) yet the UK fans that are heard from on his show are few and far between.

I find myself flipping the station frequently from his show as he puts the same Bama fans on everyday and we get to hear little from the other 13 schools' fans.

He's had Towles on twice and Stoops on once in the past 3-4 weeks. I don't think he has anything against UK (other than the fact that he's a UT grad) he just realizes that the more irrational football fanbases that call in and make fools of themselves is better radio than a UK fan calling in that is level headed and knowledgeable.

The guy is a UT grad that slobs Alabama and blasts Auburn at every opportunity. The majority of his career has been spent pandering to the Birmingham market. What you see is somebody who is all about ratings and sensation, he doesn't have anything against UK.
