Rick Pitino is still the only coach that has left UK that fans still wanted.

That actually is true. Even ole Joe B …who later became such a beloved figure with the fan base base …had the hordes clamoring for him to go by the end.

Pitino is the only guy who left us when we all still wanted him.

Not sure you can accurately give numbers (ie, Tubby and Cal). Enough to say many of the most vocal were ready to seem them leave.

As for Rupp, that was 52 years ago. I'm 66 and I have no idea how the fans felt about him begin shown the door. Certainly it's a fact Rupp didn't want to go. Anybody who actually a fan and not a pre-teen back then who can say with some authority how the fan base felt about Rupp staying or leaving?
