Just looking at this today

The South Regional Final will be held in CAtlanta
The MW Regional Final will be held in Indianapolis

Lots of things gotta go right to even be at a point for this to matter. But if we can get healthy, we're good enough to beat anyone.

Here's hoping we wind up in 1 of these regions.

I used to care about what sites UK went to...but in reality, UK has lost at favorable sites just as much, if not more, then unfavorable sites.

Now if you are looking to go if the Cats are closer, I totally get it.

But outside of that, I don't think the numbers bear out any additional success at certain sites based upon proximity to Lexington.

UK will be in the Singapore regional with the Celtics, Heat, Thunder and we are the 4 seed. lol

I think with our Quad 1's we will get a good region. We will probably be in cleveland or someplace like that first rounds. Then to Indy or Atlanta, probably with Duke in Atlanta as the NCAA loves to do that crap to people. But hopefully we get indy this time.

We've been cursed in Indy of late. Keep us far away from that region.

All comes down to whether we’re a top 4 seed of SEC teams. Remember the top 4 of any conference if they’re in the same conference have to go to different regions. If we don’t end up in the top 4(very very conceivable) then we can go to any site and it becomes hard to predict.

Auburn will go to Atlanta as the number 1 seed overall barring a monster Bama run with their schedule.
Duke would go to New Jersey.
Alabama/number 2 SEC team will go to Indy
Florida/UT/Houston/Iowa State are probably competing for the 1 out west.
Then the first 2 seed out of the SEC will go to Jersey probably with Duke. The second one probably goes out west.

Then where that leaves us is a total crapshoot.

I’ve also came to care very little about the geography as long as it’s not insane.

Agree. Some bad and heartbreaking losses in Indy and Atlanta to end the season.

I think any of the regions not named West would be favorable (though the west often has the weakest field b/c of the weird NCAA geography fetish).

UK would have a big crowd advantage in Indy or Atlanta against almost anyone (though Purdue in Indy and Auburn in Atlanta would have something to say about that).

UK would not have the advantage in NYC against Duke, but still always cool to play there.

If we get a 4 seed, fans might as well plan on being matched up with Duke and it isn’t because of shenanigans. The other three one seeds will most likely be SEC teams and they won’t match a 4 seed UK up with a 1 seed SEC team. This is why I think getting up to a 3 seed is hugely important

Matchups are the most important thing.

I know every year is different, but Indy has been BAD for us as late since the Wisconsin debacle. 2-5 inluding that game, including the Duke thrashing with Zion and St. Peters. In 2018 we blew it in Atlanta, but maybe that was just a one off.
