Brea has been a liability after his perfect performance against Tennessee a few weeks ago and after that game, he's been MIA. Now, his defense was great against South Carolina, but come on, SC has the worst record in the SEC.

If he isn't going to hustle or show more intensity while he's passing up shots set for him, then he shouldn't be starting. Noah and Perry have been playing better than him.

I know injuries are a part of the game, but let's stop making excuses because teams are always going to have set backs, but Brea is out there acting like he doesn't care.

If Brea isn't willing to put in more effort or leadership, then he should be benched.

It's disappointing watching him pass up shots or driving to the lane to open up other guys who'll contribute or at least do something he isn't willing to do and that's taking shots.

I like Brea and I'm frustrated because he's better than what we are seeing when he's on the court.

Brea has to be better defensively and rebounding than he was last game, no question about that

Agree completely. I’m all for playing Brea the majority of the first half but if it’s proving to be one of his hide and shrink games then play Perry as the backup 2 (assuming butler is back as the 1) and Noah as the backup 3. They’ll both shoot the ball just as well and Noah is the better defender and rebounder. Perry’s natural college position at this point in this athletic league is a spot up off ball guard for spot minutes anyways….at least until he gets a little stronger w the ball and handles

Brea is not a guy that can create his own shot. That is why he is not in the NBA. Teams are going to stay on him hard with defense just like Texas did.
I agree with most of the comments. However, I remember it was Brea who basically won the last TN game with two late step back threes from w-a-y out front. If those two shots didn’t fall we probably would have lost. I wholeheartedly agree that Brea needs more energy on rebounds and hustle plays. Not just energy but production.

This entire team sucks at defense, makes lazy passes, doesn't close games out...when he's hitting shots it masks all of that. When he's missing he's the one that gets the sole blame for the things above

Yeah he just had a great finish in that one with 11 points. Butler makes him much better
Butler was out when Brea hit 2 clutch 3's and threw OO with the perfect lob for the final nail in the vols coffin. Brea took over and made all the winning plays and it was a week ago tonight. He can do it but I agree Butler makes everything easier for all of our guys. He and everybody need to play their best while Lamont is out. Zero margin for error. Last game proved that again.

I posted this in another thread, but it may be more appropriate here.

I like Noah & how he plays. But like I said, it will depend on each game. In games where Brea is "on" then play the hell out of him. In games when he disappears, play Noah more.

I looked at Brea's games, and surprised myself a bit.
vs Mid-Majors (8 gms): 15.1 ppg, 56.8%, 58.8% 3pt
vs P5 schools (17 gms): 8.4 ppg, 39.2%, 37% 3pt

If you break down the P5 games more, he's had 3 "good" games, 6 "eh, ok" games, and 8 "bad" games:
3 "good" P5 games: 17.3 ppg, 68%, 72.2% 3pt
6 "eh, ok" P5 games: 9.3 ppg, 45.6%, 36.4% 3pt
8 "bad" P5 games: 4.3 ppg, 19.2%, 22% 3pt

Conclusion, in nearly half (8 of 17) games vs P5 schools, Brea is unplayable. But first you have to identify which game he is going to have that night.
