Reeves NIL bidding

I don’t get it! When NIL was approved, I pictured the likes of Wall, AD, Zion etc., taking advantage as they should. But mid-major tweeners? LoL!

NIL is supposed to be a company/ individual owner paid endorsements, where the company pays the player to use their NIL in Ads, commercials etc., in hopes that the player’s NIL will result in a return on investment!

How ITH do these low level players expect companies to waste money on them with absolutely no guarantee of a return for their services?

If I owned a company that would possibly benefit from using a college player’s NIL, it would be a future top 3 pick, and not some no name scrub from Illinois State 😭

Have seen any real ads?

I just always figured it was all backdoor money from schools being channeled through businesses. Basically laundering salary money to players. But, just always been my hunch. Unless it was a mega company like the Toppin AT&T type situation.

If we can't get anyone because we don't give guaranteed NIL, then we will never get anyone, ever again.
The program as we knew it will be dead.

Reeves is a practice player. Who cares where he goes or if he stays?

And we do not have an NIL problem. We have the number 1 class coming in.

Just because one is in the whine of the month club doesn't mean they have to partake every month. They can opt out. It's a choice.

We never wanted Reeves anyway......

......unless he chooses to stay at UK. Then we really want him here.

NIL is out of control and needs regulated. I feel any player deserves to earn money off their name and should be allowed to pursue any possibilities that come their way. But this whole promising money and collectives nonsense is ruining the sport. We've gone from allowing them to earn nothing and fighting it for years to a free-for-all where greedy agents are pulling the strings from behind the curtain. Let them make what they can make on their own, but police the "contracts" promised by schools and the collectives. Players have gone from making nothing to expecting multi-million dollar promises. It's ruining the sport.

I actually don't blame Reeves for trying to get as much money as he can. He's likely not going to the NBA. He should try to extract as much money as he possibly can now...loyalty be damned. If I were in his shoes, I'd do the same thing.

At this point players are employees. And they are asking "what is my value to this program?". It is the same every employee should do every day - ask that question.

NIL is a means to pay players a salary...whether that's what was intended or not. Players are paid from a pool of money. If I were Reeves, I would do the same thing. I'm not convinced UK has fully embraced this idea.

Man, if we lose Reeves to another college....I hate to say it, but what advantage do the players get at UK anymore? NIL should help them but something just aint right.

Well since we don’t have any practice players, I guess we need him huh?
