I like those ups! He's only a freshman and I think he played varsity as an 8th grader, if I'm not mistaken. 6'2" and jumping like daddy. Shep was 6'4"ish, with shoes I believe, but he had a freakish vertical. I wish I could find a video of his dunk in the 97-98 season where he went baseline and was nearly horizontal in the air when he dunked on a dude. I think that was against Indiana, maybe.
What a crappy technical foul, lol... just a reminder that refs have always sucked. I truly believe officiating is at it's all time worst right now. There is no question in my mind that refs are betting on games and are corrupt as it gets.

I still can't find a video of Sheppard's dunk I was talking about. It was Dec. 6th '97 vs Indiana. I found a still shot but the video is so much more impressive. Not quite DA's dunk vs Louisville in '96, but it was still awesome!

Good genes as his mom and Dad were both really good players at UK.
I know he's a freshman and class of '23, but is Reed on the recruiting radar for any major programs? I don't know much about his game other than a couple videos I've seen.

There was also a Shep block on Kareem Reid (maybe he named his kid after KR) layup that was pretty amazing...similar to Tayshaun block vs Reggie Miller....I don't know if anyone recalls it, but was one of best blocks I ever saw.
Here is the IU dunk and Shep pulling up for a jumper with feet at knees of a 6'10 guy...I think it is Hano Mattola.

It was part of our intro music forever....I think they still show it at Rupp during some part of the game, but haven't been this year.
Check the 25 second to 32 second mark...goes by so fast you hardly see it. If anyone has some super editing ability could probably clip it and slow it down.

One of his best dunk attempts was a miss. He jumped from a step inside the free throw line with the intention of dunking all over Antonio McDyess of Alabama. He ended up getting fouled and I believe just barely missed it.

Stacey Reed she played for the UK women's basketball team back around the same time Jeff was playing for the men's team

Shep is one of my all-time favorites. Hope his son plays for us.
Selfishly I hope he ends up at UK as well but I have no doubt that the Sheppard’s will choose what is in Reed’s overall best interests. I can tell you that Chris Mack is already actively recruiting him and would love to have him.
Only reason Mack wants him is to spite UK. You will never convince me of anything else. I would love to see a "3" Shepherd back on the Cats! Needs to start working on his 3 pt. shooting.

I live in London and have talked to Stacey and Jeff in the past about his recruitment and they are tight lipped about it and inferring they are trying to shield him from the process. Both are very smart people.
