How much of this is the Reds talent maturing, and how much of it can be attributed to Tito's no-nonsense approach to the game?

Highly impressed by the debut of Singer so far. Very efficient. 7 scoreless innings. The movement on his slider and sinker has fooled the Rangers all night. Nice to see the bats break out here on a cold night by the river. EDLC now with two home runs. 7 RBIs, 4 runs scored and a SB.
Hard to believe EDLC it's still just 23 years old.
The two of those together is exactly what this franchise needs. Continue to develop with a veteran manager throughout the course of the season. Hopefully they stay healthy this year.
Yesterday means nothing in baseball. It’s all about the starting pitcher and Eovaldi has shut us down before and I figured he’d do it again.
He didn't even work up a sweat. Nine inning complete game, faced 30 batters threw 99 pitches.
Now 16 consecutive scoreless Innings by the Reds. Offensive juggernaut.
This might be the Reds worst offense in 15 years when its all said and done. It is really bad.
Poor Hunter Greene. He should be 2-0. Instead he's going to be 0-1.

They did as well. Leiter would have went the distance had he not had a blister.
Leiter was good but our offense sucks. Steer needs to go on the IL, Fraley just needs to go. TySteve and Hays can’t come back soon enough
Noticed a lot of chasing out of the zone. It seems, sinkers, and sliders are going to be on the menu going forward as the Reds seem to struggle with them as a whole.
Everyone said this team needed to add offense, particularly in the outfield which is a weak spot in the lineup. Austin Hays may help if he bounces back to his numbers prior to the injury but he alone will not save them. Side note, Reds dodged a bullet in Jurickson Profar. Suspended 80 games for PEDs. No way a scrawny guy like him naturally put up those kind of numbers as an All-Star last year at Petco Park. A career .245 hitter that never hit for power was .280, 24 HRs and 85 RBIs. Still doesn't absolve the FO from doing their job and acquiring an outfielder in a position of need. Can't wait for Stephenson to come back healthy.

28 scoreless innings now and 3rd consecutive 1-0 loss. Obviously it isn't on one single player, but this is where the face of your franchise has to come through during a slump and be a leader through demonstrated performance on the field. EDLC is 1 for 12 in the past 3 games and had the chance to drive in McLain. He did make a nice play in the field throwing out Hoskins at home, but the Reds need more from him at the plate. CES another prized prospect, no hits since Game 2. Steer clearly isn't healthy and needs to go to the IL. Players need to take ownership of their subpar performance and get this turned around. Lux with his prospect pedigree, postseason experience and one of the hottest hitters in the 2nd half last year hasn't made an impact. Living up to why he is a career .250 hitter.

Yeah, still, the others are not hitting either. I have watched these last 3 games with hopes of winning because pitching has kept us in them. It's frustrating.
The Reds ownership can kiss my ass. Everyone knew they needed another big bat in the lineup. They didn't do shit, they don't want to win ball games, all they want to do is keep their money in their pockets. I don't think I've ever heard of a team losing three straight one to nothing games.
100% agree. MLB Network said the 1960 Phillies did, but of course the Reds have to put their name in the record books next to them for all of the wrong reasons. Even with Tyler Stephenson being an offensive catcher and an average at best Austin Hays, this team still needed offense. Not one of these current outfielders should be on a major league roster.
Steer needs to be on the shelf, cut your losses with Candelario like they did with Moustakas and move Spencer back to the infield when he is healthy. He is doing more harm than good right now playing injured since last season. Sparky Anderson wouldn't even be able to win with this offense. Ownership doesn't give a damn and the blame is on them for the product on the field. It is a crying shame, because the pitching has been more than good enough to win. We all knew Candelario was a waste of money when they signed him. MLB Network even said when it happened the Reds overpaid for him.
Reds have to stop dicking off acquiring career .260, .250 and .240 hitters like Hays, Candelario and Lux. Would rather have one legitimate outfielder with the cost of those 3 combined than a bunch of jokes. Hays may turn out to be decent, but he has it all to prove. A bounce back to his All-Star form is not guaranteed. I will not anoint him prematurely like some fans are doing who think he alone is going to change things up. IMO, Hays gives them production similar to Pham and Naquin if he can get healthy. Reds need more than that. Better than Friedl or Fraley is not saying much at the moment.

If the Reds pitching begins to falter, these 1 to 0 losses will start becoming 6 to 0 losses.
Francona would have been better off taking another job with an organization that takes winning seriously or staying home. I would not want the headaches and stress of the Reds manager job with his health issues. I am glad he came here, but it is a shame the front office does not care about putting a decent product on the field. The Castellini's expected his past experience and success alone would be enough to shield their incompetence as an ownership group and get by with their cheapskate approach to building a roster. There isn't a manager in baseball who can win with this offense. It is ashamed that it's not even half as good as the Reds pitching this year.

Just because it doesn't hurt to swing a bat doesn't mean it isn't affecting him. They just need to shut him down, and stop with the cortisone injections and surgically repair whatever is causing the problem. He needs a second, third and fourth opinion on what's wrong with it.
It's just sad the FO can't go out and get some bats for the lineup to support these Pitchers. It looks like pitching is about as solid as one could hope for. Probably one of the best rotations in baseball right now, and that's with Abbott and Lowder waiting in the wings. Spiers did great but will probably be supplanted by Abbott here shortly.
The worst part is there likely isn't going to be any significant change in this offense for at least 2-3 weeks until Stephenson is back and whatever Austin Hays can give them. Even then, I still see prolonged slumps as this team lacks the impact bats in the lineup.
