I keep reading about how certain recruits want an offer from the Cats then when they get one the end up choosing a different school. Is it that just want to pad their resume or something else? Just think if I wanted an offer and then it was given to me I would take it then before someone else did. Thoughts?

There are probably many reasons.

Outside of ego, I would say many use a UK offer as part of their branding. A kid recruited by us may potentially obtain more observance from the NBA and fans in general.

So they can be all like "Yeah Cal wanted me at UK, Begged me to come but I just didn't think it was right for me" LOL.

Big fail.

A recruit that chooses another school but was offered by UK doesn't get more notice by NBA just because UK offered but never attended.

First off, I surely hope you were never in the Army. You are consistently an @ss and an embarrassment.

Sorry if you disagree with my assertion that a recruit may be attempting to get more attention from fans, recruiting experts, as well as professional scouts.

Keep trolling, idiot.

Don't agree with you Army, common reading comprehension will tell you that what he meant was that an offer from UK will always be as a badge of honor. Ray Allen, Allen Iverson and many more have mentioned specifically about the UK offer they received back in the day and today's recruits will be taking about it in their 30s and 40s about how they received an offer from the pinnacle of college basketball. It's cool to disagree, that's what makes this board fun, but never treat people like crap. Not cool man.
