So, we sell the family atmosphere to or recruits. No need to go to the bigger, more established programs. We have everything here, and we care about you like family. Thats what our coaches, specifically marrow, preach to these kids..... How does that work, if the first chance they get to go to a bigger program they bolt? I guess that's the way it is in recruiting, and the players probably know it. But I don't want to ever read that crap again.

I doubt that family atmosphere BS works for most higher ranked recruits. The ones that have came here and will come here are doing it for more logical reasons than that hokey crap.
Actually that is Auburn's main pitch, one big family and all in. Every update from kids who visit there talk about how much they push family. Has been that through 3 head coaches, Gus loses 5 again and it might be 4 pretty soon.
Every school talks about family atmosphere. Have you ever worked at a place that has a great
atmosphere but you have an opportunity for a raise and promotion? It's not different for a football coach. While
he's here or any coach is here the are going to create a family atmosphere as best they can. I'm sure the new OC will do that as will the new special teams coach. If Marrow leaves it's for a better offer, anyone with any
understanding of how the work place works will understand.
However...he hasn't left yet...I don't think he will.

Great post, ^^^^^ I agree with everything you say. But we are the little guy, telling good players to not go to big schools. Gonna be a tough sell when our coach bolts to bigger school first chance. But, maybe you're right and he stays. Be huge either way
