It hit me in 1978. We were never going to be a factor in the SEC. After the probation I knew that was the pinnacle. 6-7 wins and a minor bowl was the ceiling. With coming expansion I don’t expect we will see another winning record. I am thankful for the optimism of you young guys for those of us 65 and older reality set in decades ago.

I think you are right about what will be but that is not what had/has to be.
We've all seen strong programs rise from nothing. It all starts with the head coach; the great ones win everywhere they go.
The only way UK ever becomes elite is with a great coach. Say what you will about Stoops but only an idiot could call him great.
